    Maybe you're okay with the sunshine that the Iowa athletic department constantly blows up our asses, but real Hawkeye fans should demand excellence from the program, and Kirk Ferentz consistently fails to excel in any way besides failing to meet expectations.

    Yeah. Im sure Chip Kelly would love to move from a beautiful state like Oregon to come to Iowa. He probably wouldn't miss having the best booster in college football having his back anymore or that sweet recruit pipeline he has going on from California to Texas. Leave Oregon who pays 3.4 million to come to Iowa for 3.4 million, makes sense. Should you call him or me?

    What does my post have to do with your response? Iowa is mediocre because its not logical for Chip Kelly to be swayed away from Oregon? Troll on. Who's your next candidate Nick Saban or Bill Belichick?

    i already called Chip to offer him the job. his response was confusing, something about harrassing him, lawyers and cops being involved. then he asked me to stop calling him, again. the nerve of some people.

    Feel free to debate why you think Ferentz deserves to be fired - that's what this board is for. But I think you're going overboard by blaming Iowa's struggles on the fans and saying that you can't be a real fan unless you want Ferentz fired. There are great arguments on both sides, and it's perfectly reasonable for a diehard Hawkeye fan to take either side.

  • It didn't work out so great for us when we pushed Dr. Tom Davis out the door, what makes anyone think firing Ferentz would produce better results? It's taken the basketball team over 10 years to get to a place where we have a legitimate shot at the NCAA again. Would hate to have the same thing happen in football.

    Not to encourage "trollism" but I'm just curious as to what brilliant strategy you would use to bring Kelly, or any similar high-profile coach, to Iowa? You assert that acceptance of mediocrity by the fans is the problem with the program, therefore I assume you must have a solution in mind. Please enlighten us.
