Iowa keeping tabs on D.J. Foster

The Hawkeyes have already landed an elite offensive tackle, and hope to add a standout offensive guard to play next to him. Click inside for more on D.J. Foster.

  • Its actually very impressive when you consider this kid's bend, footwork, drive and explosiveness while carrying some bad weight. Ross and Foster on the left side together would pound some DL.

Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

I think it depends on who from the SEC offers him. If Alabama or Auburn offer, they may be tough to beat. But some of the other schools in the SEC may not catch his eye quite as much if they offer.

  • For Nebraska you have to keep a 4 star prospect who is arguably the top player in state, but from our write ups is sounds like he really likes Georgia.

I feel like what you mentioned if Bama or Auburn offer hes theres

I see some similarities between Foster and Amara Darboh in terms of their recruitment by their home state school. Because he's from Alabama, Foster didn't grow up a diehard Husker fan like most kids in Nebraska do. Similarly, Darboh didn't grow up a diehard Hawkeye fan as a lot of kids in Iowa do. So while it's always important to protect your borders, I don't/didn't think it's quite as alarming for Nebraska/Iowa to miss out on Foster/Darboh.

Not a big surprise with Gifford, but that was a nice move on Nebraska's part to identify a top target, offer him and close the deal early. I talked to DJ about potentially teaming up with Gifford in college, and he said it'd be a nice bonus, but that it won't play a role in his decision.

I agree. Letting a 4 star get away wouldn't be good. He's supposed to be at Nebraska's spring game April 6th. If he ever commits to the Huskers that would be the day he does it.

I'd never say never, but I don't see him committing to Nebraska that early. I think he'll wait a bit and see who else offers. Not saying he won't ultimately end up at Nebraska, but I'd be mildly surprised to see it happen April 6. Of course, things change by the minute in recruiting, so it's definitely possible.
