  • How does Minnesota losing help Iowa? Because it puts us in a 3 way tie for 6th in the league?

    KCHawk25

  • So now Iowa, MInny, and Illinois are tied for 6th. Iowa holds the tie-breaker of those 2 teams( winning % over other 2 in H2H games - Iowa is 2-1, Minny is 2-2, Illinois is 1-2)

So if all 3 teams win this weekend, Iowa would be the 6th seed in the BTT and have to play Northwestern(most likely). If Iowa wins that, they would play the 3 seed which I don't even want to begin to think about the tiebreaker in the Top 4. Especially if Michigan beats Indiana on Saturday. Iowa has zero wins against the Top 25 right now and they would have to win their 2nd round match-up to have a "good win" on their schedule for the selection committee and then not get blown out in the semi's to have a shot. win 3 in the BTT and make the final, I think they are in for sure.

Gophers are in. RPI of 20, a solid BPI of 23 and wins over Memphis, MSU, Indiana and Wisky goes a long way.

Well, I really like hearing that NYCHawkeye..........however, the
Hawkeyes need to ride the momentum from the nice win over Illini.
Might need wins on Saturday, then next Thursday & Friday? to
    seal the deal.

Trivia: When was the last time the Iowa Hawkeyes won 20 games ?

1999, when we went 20-10. Dr. Tom's last season and our last Sweet 16.

However, you probably met at least 20 games (or more) and that would have been 25-9 in 2006.

We did beat Wisky. They're 22nd.

    Lot of material there.

We need to start rooting against other major confence bubble teams such as Virginia, Mary, Villa, Prov, Colorado, Cal and Tenn, to mention a few.

And no upsets in smaller conference tournamnets where the favorite is raed high and a near-lock for a bid, regardless of their conference tournamnet.

    Lots of work to do.

    Let's Go Hawks!
