Iowa IN or Iowa OUT of the NCAA tourney?

I'm not really. If you look at the entire body of work, IU really has been good this year. Crean seems to struggle with Bo Ryan teams for whatever reason. Louisville did lose 3 games in a row this season. I honestly don't think Louisville is one of the top 4 teams this year, but that's just me.

Yea not many teams can say they swept Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, beat North Carolina, and Georgetown as well.

  • I think the committee, especially when it comes to the top teams in the country, really doesn't place a ton of emphasis on the conference tournament. So IU's body of work may help them much more than the Wisconsin loss may hurt them.

Also, on a slight tangent, they basically have the brackets all but completed as of Saturday night. Because of that, it's almost irrelevant in terms of seeding for the NCAA Tournament what happens in the B1G title game, especially with the game starting less than three hours before the brackets are released. Therefore, I'd like to see the B1G move the tournament up a day. Because as it is, it's obviously a big honor to win it, but it really doesn't do much for the champion when it comes to seeding.

  • Iowa is out IMO.

1 seeds are Kansas, Duke, Louisville, and Gonzaga.

Big Teb won't lose that $$$$ so they won't move the championship

Plus wins over Minnesota and Ohio State, even though they split those series. The Big East has a lot of overrated teams in my eyes. Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Cincinnati. I'm not incredibly impressed with any of these teams. Syracuse has a lot of talent, but seems to lack the ability to score at times. They also don't defend like teams of Boehiem's past.

Great point - I'm sure that's a major factor at play here.

  • I can't see Duke getting a #1 seed and Indiana out. I think Indiana gets it and not duke. No way a B1G doesnt get a 1 seed. Conference just to good not to be represented by #1. Also saw a blind test on ESPN a little while ago and had two teams with one having a 25-8 record and one with a 21-12 record. the latter had better SOS and BPI but not as good record. Digger and Bilas picked the 21-12 and the other guy (not sure who it was) picked the 25-8. when the teams were shown it was IOWA and St. Marys.. Didnt hear another word out of Digger and Bilas. Once again the media putting on a last ditch effort to get the teams they want in and out. HAWKS IN!!!!
