I watched Brant Gressel film...

  • I love this kid. His first step is extremely quick, beats everybody off the snap. He plays with great leverage. He's violent and active with his hands. I think this is a great pickup.

I don't know where Iowa projects him but he seems like he would be a nasty center. Definitely looks disruptive on the defensive side too though. Either way I think he's a difference maker.

  • I completely agree. Ever since I found out we offered him, I watched his film and it is outstanding. And your 100% right, he could be equally nasty on the OL. Damn, I just love the name, too.

Thanks Barton! I agree with you - I really like his get off, knee bend, hips, hands and motor. If he were two inches taller, I think his offer sheet would have been doubled.

He actually plays center for his high school team. Iowa is projecting him as a defensive tackle, but I agree with you that he possesses the tools to make that move at some point if need be.

  • Thanks Barton. Do you think you and the other national guys will update his ranking sometime soon? If so whereabouts would you put him?

That makes him tied with Goebel for the highest rated commit.

I don't think it's out of the question that it can go up from 88 as well. When a kid is listed at 6-2 you always wonder what he looks like in person.

If we see him in person - and I'll be up at the Ohio Nike camp in a few weeks - and he checks out on the hoof as a legit 6-2, it's not inconceivable that he impresses us enough to be a four-star.

If he's 6-4 with that film, he's a no doubt 100 percent 4-star in my book.

Thanks for the insight Barton! Iowa has thrived on undersized guys like that. I know the coaches were very high on him, so it was nice to be able to close the deal this early in the process.
