The last 3 years, Iowa has had a total of 7 prospects committed before JUNE 1. Having 6 this early is a great sign. Hopefully it allows the coaching staff to close the deal on the class early, focus on key spot in December and January and start early on the class of '14.

Just added some quotes from Gressel. Expecting to have much more from him tomorrow.

More like the new recruiters and excitement they bring to the program. I'm sure the practice facility has something to do with it.

New coordinators helping alot too i assume. Iowa was known as solid offensively and defensively, but very vanilla. We can sell recruits on new, more aggressive attacks on both sides of the ball. E.J going to full time recruiter, and Brian Ferentz really helping too.

Todd, just curious, but Centerville.... big school? High level of competition?

The one thing I notice right away with Gressel is he is already well schooled on playing with leverage. One of the first things they would emphasize in college, and he does a very good job with this already. Good get off, high motor..... Just looks like an Iowa guy. Like the pick up. Todd, knee jerk reaction on this one, but Sam Raridon.... think Iowa still has a spot for him? He seems cut from the same mold as Bazata and Gressel. If Iowa takes another DT, would you see them looking for a big bodied type like Merrick Jackson or could they see Raridon as possibly a DT/DE? Ultimately.... Where does Iowa's D-line recruiting go from here do you think?

Also, I know this has been discussed, but Iowa didn't land its sixth commit in the 2012 class (Jaleel Johnson) until July 7th.

Not Todd but Centerville is a pretty large school that has produced a good amount of D1 players in the past.
