I didn't see the game as I'm traveling. Reading the game thread it sounded like we even had a substantial lead at one point. The close losses of this season would hopefully turn into wins in the coming years as the players gain experience and learn how to protect a lead, and how to close must-win games. Heartbreaking!

I haven't commented on the officiating yet, but figured I'd chime in here. What was most disappointing to me was the poor quality of the broadcast by the B1G Network. There were a handful of calls that looked iffy when I saw them live, but there was almost never a replay shown so we could get a better look. And when there was a replay, it was from the worst angle possible. I did feel Iowa got the wrong end of some calls here and there, but because of the broadcast, you really couldn't be sure, IMO.

I'm not big on blaming refs, but it did seem they started making calls they weren't making earlier, as the game tightened up.
Of course, when we consider the Hawks had 5 turnovers in their last 12 possessions, that didn't help either....Clemmons had three and Marble had two.... we made only three shots (plus two free throws) in the last ten minutes....so there were a lot of moving parts to the end of the game...not just a few questionable calls by the refs.

Still pissed about the game.... The refs didn't help, I blame them about 60%. Fran's gamble on experienced guys at the last 10 mins was bad. Although I like McCabe, he played too much while Woody and Olaseni were effective on stopping MSU's interior plays in the first half that gave IA the comfortable lead. I do not like that Fran went with small and experienced players at the end. My only hope is that the NCAA committee sees the biased in the officiating of the plays in the last end of the game and gives IA strong consideration. I will only hope Sunday turns out for our Hawks!
