Bad headlines for Dondre just when his team (IC West 17-0) is streaking for a 2nd--in a row-- title run.

Im still hoping for an Iowa City West Des Moines Valley matchup in the final of the State Tourney.

At least he isn't an Iowa recruit!

of course i don't know what info is in the secret posts but i do add that dondre did not play against city high last night after being suspended again. even if he suddenly decided to play football, i doubt kf would be a taker.

This is just speculation on my part, but if he's been told he's suspended for the remainder of the season, I could see why he'd want to cut ties and make better use of his time.

Gotcha, thanks for pointing that out. I really don't know what the policy is - was just throwing that out there as a possibility.

That's a shame his high school career ended like that.

Watched Dondre get the better of Marcus Paige in the semi-final game at State, last year. That's right, IC West won and
Dondre got the best of Paige, imho. Unbelievable God given talent on the BB court. As fun a player to watch at the High School level, as I've seen in maybe 10 years. A division 1 talent in BB & FB is saying A LOT.

That being said......while it's on him, he is the only one who can be held accountable for his actions and some kids could be that responsible, I do feel sorry for him, in some ways. It is my understanding that he has almost no family life and pretty much 'has been on his own' for a few years. I cannot imagine how I would have reacted, at age 17 or 18, if my parents had not been there to keep me somewhat on the straight and narrow. There's plenty of bad stuff out there to 'get into' and some of it has gotten Dondre.

Might keep Dondre in our thoughts and prayers. I know that I will. I'd hate to see him pi** his amazing talent down the drain.
