  • Very interesting comments by his father on seeing kids on film that are talented but not seeing the field. This is something I'm sure other schools use against Ferentz and company. Garmon being a direct case I'm sure.

  • After watching his and his team's senior season highlights, its clear that Iowa really needs to land this kid. We all know his playing speed is very impressive, but when I watched his tapes, and saw how tough he ran between the tackles, and how tough he was to bring down...all one can say is "oh my".

I still don't know what it takes to be a higher rated RB...an inch in height? I've seen much higher rated kids who don't show as much talent as Edwards has.

Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

How many recruits come into a D1 football team and dominate their true freshman year as RB?

Maurice Clarret was a 5 star #1 RB
Marcus Lattimore was a 5 star #1 RB
Isaiah Crowell was a 5 star #1 RB
    De'Anthony Thomas was a 5 star #1 ATH

Point is I hope we get Edwards but I think he is over estimating his stock. He has 3 BCS offers and concensus 3 star rating. He's camped at plenty of schools, he's visited all the campuses. He needs to sit down and make a choice. I understand the whole taking all your visits and making your choice after your senior year is done stuff but expecting a in home visit is getting borderline prima donna (I still hope we visit with a full court press obiviously).

I like prospects that don't care about the depth chart. They come in thinking they are the best and will get in regardless cause of so. I'm worried Berkley is going to have to RS and play SPT's his RS freshman year and not wait around until the fog clears.

If he thinks he's coming in and playing immediately, than he's sadly mistaken. People like Canzeri, Malloy, & Garmon will have a year accustomed to zone blocking reading , D1 defense reaction speed, and Doyle S&C. If Edwards can accept the fact he'll be toting some of the rock his RS sophomore year than he'll have great career at Iowa.

Just about every school makes in-home visits to their top targets, and Edwards is definitely one of Iowa's top targets (same with Minnesota and Cal). I don't see what's borderline prima donna-ish about expecting those schools to do what they always do with prospects like him.

Can't be that top of a prospect..... should've committed while he had the chance.

  • Just got confirmation from Stan Edwards that Iowa did pull Berkley's offer.

  • Especially with Jeff Tedford getting fired today, Minnesota is likely in the driver's seat here. I wouldn't completely count out Cal just yet though, for the reasons mentioned above.
