Does it hurt Iowa playing Mich, MSU and OSU only once this year? I would think the committee would look at the 9-9 record and bring up the fact that Iowa only played those teams once. It would have been a worse record blah blah blah. I would agree. I'd rather have Iowa play those guys and have a chance for an upset... or two like last year and Iowa has a better team than last year to do it.
I guess it doesn't matter now. Just win baby.
Ok, I'm in Vegas (but I guess I can do that here in bkk =) and take a 10 pts win over NW and then a 7 pts wins over MSU. And 5 pts loss to OSU (only because Woodbury and Basabe will get in foul trouble). that's me drinking...
It's doesn't matter now since it's forgone, just don't lose your shirt. Good Luck on the bets, lol.
I don't think Iowa will be penalized per se for the schedule give to it by the B1G. But only playing those teams once gave Iowa less opportunities than some other schools had to gain impressive wins, which seems to be holding Iowa back right now as far as making the Big Dance. On the other hand, as you said, one could argue that Iowa's 9-9 record might not have been as good with a more difficult conference schedule.
