I know with a screen name like F U isu, you think I'd hate them. I used to root for ISU unless they were playing Iowa, than I realized I was part of the problem not the solution.
This year we lost Jake Campos 2013 & Lazard 2014 instate recruits to I.S.U. Not good. Not good at all. We can't afford to lose any instate recruiting battles to most teams, let alone ISU. Some will say, "well Lazard is going there cause of his Dad & brother"... Do you really think Lazard would be going to ISU if Iowa's record under KF wasn't 6 & 8 when facing little brother? Would Campos even consider the Clowns if Iowa's record under KF was 12 - 2? Hayden Fry lost one game between 1983-1998 to Iowa State, I'm willing to bet he also owned the state of Iowa during that time. I'm also going to guess the curb stompings he put on them only had kids going to ISU has a fall back plan.
If you root for ISU 364 days in the year to do good cause they represent this state, than you support the idea that the state of Iowa can hold two D1 BCS AQ schools and be successful. Truth is, it can't. The state it's self isn't populated enough for two power house D1 programs. Hell, even Nebraska wasn't populated enough for UNL right next door if your fimilar with the rumors on why they closed down. If the B12 would've collapsed, ISU no question wouldn't have been picked up by any conference other than the MAC..... and Iowa would've been 100x better off.
ISU isn't slowing down either. Check out this link I'm attaching. They are getting their own TV network deal. More exposure in Iowa for ISU equals bad news for the Hawks.
So if you root for ISU 364 days in football, you might as well root 365 days for them. Hell, trade in all your Hawkeye gear now & see if McDonalds you give you a deal on their uniforms so you can have some Cyclone gear. If not, it's your duty as a Hawkeye fan to start hating these tools at any given opportunity. A true hawk fan can't say something nice about the clowns, and will bash them blindly from now on. If your not one of us, your one of them.

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State Athletics Department announced today that it has agreed to a five-year partnership with Mediacom.
For the record, I am NOT, and NEVER have been, one of those "364 guys" ...I always root against them....well....unless they're playing Notre Dame.
Yes, I think Lazzard would pick ISU if Iowa had beaten ISU this year and had a great season.
Agreed. One could probably say the same for Campos as well.
Neither was an Iowa fan. Believe it or not, not everyone in the state is an Iowa fan.
Especially in the Des Moines area.
Do you really think Lazard would have pick ISU if maybe Iowa was 12-2 against them under KF?
I think Lazard's commitment to Iowa State has more to do with State's performance than Iowa's. If Iowa State went 2-10 this year I think you'd have a point, but I don't think Ferentz's record against Iowa State has much to do with his decision.
Yes. They were still a 6-6 team. He was going to ISU regardless. Unless they were a 2 win team. Has nothing to do with Iowa's performance.
Oh but I think it does. Look back at Hayden's dominance against ISU. We were the only school in town so to speak. If you bat .500 against your instate rival you have what we have now. If you dominate the instate schools like Boise dominates Idaho or Va Tech dominates Virginia, you don't lose any prospects. It's not only Lazard, cause maybe Lazard is the exception to the rule (maybe) but its Campos as well.
There's more ISU fans in this state than I can handle.
Just saying, As a die hard Iowa fan I would never go to Iowa State, especially if Iowa was an option, even if they offered me a scholarship. Maybe its the opposite for him as he is probably a pretty big State fan considering his families history there.
So no i dont think it would matter if Iowa was 14-0 against State winning by 25 points a game, he was not coming here.
So one year down. ISU only has 4 more years to add 10-15k to Jack Trice. Or was it sooner than that? I dont know how to find old topics.
I assume you're referencing this thread? Briefly looking, it appears Iowa State's attendance numbers went up again this year so I still think sometime in the next fiveish years they'll announce a project to bowl in that endzone. That's assuming their attendance trends continue of course.
I don't absolutely "hate" Iowa St. I never have, and I don't think I ever will. To me, its 100% true that I would rather beat every BIG team and go to the Rose. However, I certainly don't "root" for ISU. Sometimes, yeah, but not too often. That is more a product of their fans than the school itself, its players, or coaches. I just can't stand ISU fans. How they always rant about their 6-6 successful season in the biggest, baddest conference around. How Iowa basketball ins't athletic and Iowa is garbage at basketball, yet ISU has had a worse history in basketball and has also recently been garbage outside of last season. I hate how ISU fans are SO focus on Iowa and what happens at Iowa that they constantly try to argue about Iowa. You don't see me going to ISU fans about who recently had a public intox or who recently decommitted, because I don't care. I never will care. I care about BEATING Iowa St twice a year. Once in football and once in basketball. I do not care how many games they win outside of those 2 days, literally do not care. I'll watch them sometimes, sure. I'll attend some games with my friends, but I still think JT is a lame stadium and it always will be.
"I was brought in here to change the culture. I'm going to coach with passion" - Fran McCaffery.
Did you see the article where ISU is middle of the pack in football revenue in the 2011 Big 12, ahead of Kansas, K State, and Baylor? Amazing...
Pretty impressive for Iowa State. I just saw that they already sold out their 10k ticket allotment for the Liberty Bowl and are requesting more.
Oh Bleep them.
As usual, FUISU and Skyhawk52 are in COMPLETE AGREEMENT !
Here's hoping we DESTROY them tonite at CHA!
Already beat them in Wrestling and Women's Hoops..........Go for Trifecta in winter sports!
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
^I upvoted that
Fish, you root for ISU 364 days of the year in football don't ya.
I wouldn't say I root for them 364 days a year, but I'll root for them if they're on and not playing Iowa. I guess I don't share the same hatred for them as some other Hawkeye fans. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with not living in Iowa and being exposed to idiotic bandwagon fans.
