The Top247 for the 2014 class was just updated, and Pierschbacher surged up the rankings.
Damn up to top-10 in the class for OT, we really need to lock him up. The longer he's uncommitted the worse our chances are going to get.
Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
I think this move was a long time coming for Ross. Not many offensive linemen possess that combination of knee bend, explosiveness and footwork. I'm honestly surprised more of the national powers haven't offered. Haven't seen too many offensive linemen in this class that I'd take over Ross.
ND is a really big offer. Alabama has such a luxury to wait and offer big time athletes when comfortable. Todd you think there is any strategy in waiting to offer till later? As in more excitement when a big team like Bama offers summer of Senior yr and its fresh in his mind. Maybe Im over thinking it.
Wow...a 95 rating? Now who could'va thunk that?
Guess that makes him the #1 recruit in Iowa over Lazard now...which means more national prominence, and more offers. I swear the coaches better not drop the ball on this one.

Agreed, he is THE GUY that we need in this class. Everything else can fall into place if he commits....Jeff Jones anyone??? If we could snag Ross, Jones, Scheel, and Render I would be ecstatic. Just locking up what we can.
I don't think Lazard deserved to slip in the rankings like he did, but I do think Pierschbacher's ranking is well-deserved.
Here's the full list. Lazard down to 243? That seems pretty low IMO.
The 247Sports rankings are determined by our recruiting analysts after countless hours of personal observations, film evaluation and input from our network of scouts. Players are ranked by position, grouped qualitatively with a star ranking and given a numerical ranking based on their future potential.
Here's what JC Schurburtt, one of the national guys for 247, had to say about Ross P:
"He's one that when we saw him at The Opening we weren't too sure of his ceiling, but after we re-evaluated him after his junior year, we think he's one of the top linemen in the Midwest and one of the better prospects in the country. Not overly-athletic, but enough and tough as nails."
Sounds like the type of lineman that Iowa loves and has had success with.
He committed to Iowa State. He obviously is lacking the mental tools to be a great football player.
The aforementioned JC Schurburtt said it was more a thing where other guys did some exceptional things and jumped him instead of him showing them something that really warranted a drop.
I really hope Iowa can land Ross, but at the same time I think Iowa has a very good chance to do so.
"I was brought in here to change the culture. I'm going to coach with passion" - Fran McCaffery.
Once he switches his commitment next year to LSU or scUM....it'll go up.
