I didn't like it either. But I want to believe he was only trying to mess with his friends and the Hawkeye fans that were watching or listening. I doubt he was being mean, but instead was just caught up in the experience and wanted to get a reaction from his fans. The coaches already knew his decision. The reason I didn't like it was because it leaves a bad taste in the mouths of some of the fans that saw it. Can you imagine if he had put on an Illinois hat first and then threw it down? I think most people would of seen it as childish. The syracuse fans deserve respect too and I bet many were hurt by what he did.
Still, in the end I need to remind myself that it was just a young man finding himself in a unique situation and he tried to have some fun.
