VT got crushed by Larry Eustachy's Colorado State Rams late last night in Las Vegas, 88-52.
It did not hurt us as we are currently No. 66, while the Hokies fell to No. 141.
I'm that if they'd won it would have bumped us up a bit, so it did hurt a little.

Wish we could play VT again!
Anyway, a lot of work to do as conference play is less than a week ago.
Let's Go Hawks!
We're down to 69 today, not sure exactly what happened that lowered us, but as we know its a very fluid ranking.
Oh, and I noticed an interesting tid-bit about our Hawkeyes today, they have scored exactly 1000 points so far this season:
View complete Iowa Hawkeyes basketball stat leaders from 2012-13, including points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
I assume you read that somewhere (1,000 points), or were you just desperate for Hawkeye BB like I am during this 9-day lay off, and started adding numbers and looking at stats on all these gameless nights?
Actually NYC, click the link I provided above and then scroll to the bottom....there is a total under the PTS column
I see it now.
I can't wait for the season to resume, esp with the Hawks not in a bowl I have no interest in college FB until our 2013 opener.
By staying idle the past week, everything beyond our control, we have fallen to No. 72.
it probably didn't help that VT lost at BYU by 26 earlier today
Those bastards again. I want to play the Hokies tomorrow.
Oh well, they will no longer be much of a drain on our RPI after we win Monday.
Wichita crushed UNI today.
Iowa moves up to No. 62.
Indiana is No. 19.
I think Iowa would have moved into the Top 50 had UNI knocked of Wichita.
BRING ON THE HOOOOSIERS!!!!
That loss to Indiana at home dropped us to No. 80.
Interesting how playing the #5 team doesn't improve our sos enough to at least only drop us a few spots....plus, it doesn't seem right that margin of victory isn't factored in, it's not like we were blown out....i'm starting to think RPI is rigged
I don't get it either.
UNI loses another one...(to Indiana State at home)...look for our RPI to drop again
Only dropped 2, and now stands at No. 82.
How about IL's rpi spiral on losing to Purdue last night? I figure more losses for IL, they will repeat last year's fall in the B1G.
Mich plays NU tonight, hope the wildcats can do something.
Actually, I'm hoping Mich runs 'wild' on them, that way if we pull off the upset in Chrisler Center this weekend it will boost our RPI even more...
These days off are killing us -- down to No. 89.
Only thing I can think of is that both South Dakota and Western Kentucky lost yesterday...
We were No. 88 going into Sat action, but VT got crushed today, G-W lost in OT, however, SDak knocked off SDak State.
I wonder how far we would move up with a road win at Michigan tomorrow?
That loss to VT is hurting us more and more as the season moves along....
A win at Michigan would shoot us up into the top 50 for sure.
Anyone catch OSU at IL, OSU looked bad and not impressive at all. IL looked much better; however, I did not see them lose at Pur. Purdue looked tough with D as usual but thin in the line up. MSU wore them down and capitalize at the last mins to make it looked like a blow out. I hope IA play their A game tomorrow at Mich, we'll see...
