Nice...that is good news Keith. Any idea on his timeline?
Well that's a good first step I guess, a sort of terrifying step from a recruiting standpoint, but nice nonetheless. Thanks for the update, I know a few of us have been wondering about him it's nice to finally hear something.
Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
Lot of heavy hitters
Agree.......THANKS for the update, Keith and if you can just come back a bit
later on, maybe mid-January with his decision to commit to Iowa, we're all good.
Seriously though, thanks for the info on this very good looking football player.
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
Nice to be on that quality of a list. I know KF had a relationship with Sr but its gonna be an uphill battle. Hopefully they do more than "hold hands".
I wonder if KF can wrangle an OV?
I see this as a Cyrus and New Mexico State sort of thing. Will leave us in it till the end out of respect for the coach
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
But I would attempt to do back flips if he did choose us. He is a MOUNTAIN of a kid
Thanks Keith! Some stiff competition there.
I think the key will be getting him out for an unofficial this spring/summer. If not, it may be difficult to get him on campus for an official.
Except Cyrus was a top 5 national recruit...and at least there is a real connection to Iowa this time.
Not taking his recruitment serious unless he visits.
To meet the deal others offer, it may have to be an OV + SUV.
Sure would be nice to have him at Iowa though. He could run for governor after his pro career is over.
Pardon me for making a reference oh mighty Oz, I will be sure to keep them to myself next time so I dont upset you.

Hell I wasn't even try to be difficult, and I sure as hell wasn't trying to be condescending. I guess next time I will remember to make my response as such to be deserving of such.
Now with the bullsh*t out of the way, I only sought to point out the differences between those two situations. The outcome most likely will be the same, but at least there is a real reason to include Iowa with this recruit this time. Cyrus had no such connection to Iowa or New Mexico back then, but at least he visited. If anything this reminds me more of Jordan Diamond's recruitment. Both were to take an unofficial visit, and like Diamond, Brown had his plans fall thru.
Diamond actually did take an unofficial to Iowa in August of his senior year, and at the time, he told me Iowa and Wisconsin were his top-2 schools. Wisconsin remained in the mix until the end, but Iowa wasn't able to.
Yeah, but didn't he get a "flat" at IHOP later on in the recruiting process?

I think it happened on his way out of Chicago in October/November, yes. If Iowa gets Brown on campus for a first visit, I think the Hawkeyes would have a legit chance to land him.
I know he's stated that "distance is not an issue for recruitment"....and if he's included Iowa on his list, one could infer that he has intentions to visiting.
This might be wishful thinking but imagine if Iowa got BOTH Ross P and Brown. Wow! Im feeling better about Ross with BB outta Wisky. Im not greedy so I'll settle for 1 of 2. Iowa is a .500 team and all.
Lighten up dude was only playing
I was kind of just saying with all the heavy hitters and then us,we are sort of like the new Mexico State in this scenario. I hope and i mean i really hope I am wrong because this kid is big enough for 1 and a half players but I just don't feel great about landing him even more so if he can't make it to Iowa City.
I know Iowa has more of a chance with him than Cyrus because of the situation but like I said I was more comparing it to the fact he kept NMS in the mix till the end strictly because of his relationship with the coach and I feel it will be the same way here.
Sorry...argument with the gf had me...edgy.
On paper it looks like we're the ones who could be left high and dry, but an interesting thing I found...some reports have him at 6'10 now. Who better to teach him to play at that height, then the guy who took his dad from NFL UDFA to one of the highest paid OL in the league. And I think the kid knows it.
Agree with you and Todd, but the key is getting him here. I only have my doubts because he has not been here yet,if he comes I will change my tune. Kirk is very well known for being one of the best line coaches in the NFL even (at least some have said it) and I have heard Orlando Jr. say that. i just hope that he can over look the glory of the bigger programs and come help us get back on track. Can you even imagine a line with him and Ross. Holy those two would be there own line and we would still have 3 others and tight ends. You would never see the running back behind them. Of course we may need a taller Q.B
