NC A&T over Liberty
St. Mary's over MTSU
Anyone else watching tonight?
This post was edited by thejumper5 13 months ago
NCAA games are on Tru TV tonight. And all the ESPN channels are showing NIT games tonight.
A&T is up 40-33 at halftime in the opener. A little sloppy at times, but both teams have been hitting shots. If Liberty can keep hitting 3's, they have a shot.
Lib within one (52-51) and getting hot on treys.
I found this on another site. It's a helpful channel guide for this weekend's games.
Also, I didn't make it, so please forgive the fact that the "green" and "blue" are pretty much the same color.
First game of the tourney is going down to the wire. 3-point game with less than a minute to go.
Great finish to the opener as NC A&T survives a buzzer beater attempt to win 73-72 over Liberty.
Close finish. He should of passed or shot sooner instead of driving into all that traffic.
St. Mary's leads MTSU 29-20 at the half.
I picked the winner of this game, St Mary's, over Memphis in my bracket today. Go Gaels!
I recently put together a modification of Ken Pomeroy's computer rankings, and it suggests not only that St. Mary's will defeat Memphis, but that that game is the tightest of all the "second" round matchups.
Has anyone else had just an awful time trying to pick brackets this year? It seems like this is the most difficult year for me to gauge. Maybe '06 was close to as tough, but I can't think of another year that was so up in the air.
I usually go thru and can get a pretty good idea of the majority of the first round games. Only having to sit and think about maybe 5-8 close games. This year, I could only go with my first impression on 13 of the 32 first round games with confidence. Took me 3 hours to analyze the rest. And this year I made it a point to watch as many relevant NCAA games as possible...easily twice as much as any other year.
What does it add up too...the least confidence in my bracket ever.
After having watched the early NIT and NCAA games last night, they are ALL good teams, with any of them looking much like Iowa. In the end, it appears the eventual winners will be the ones with the best shooters. In football, when most things are even, it comes down to the toe of the field goal kicker. Same game, different looking ball.
I know most will be watching the Hawkeyes and not the play-ins tonight, but here are my picks:
LIU-Brooklynn over James Madison
Boise State over La Salle
JMU knocks off LIU-Brooklynn 68-55.
DraftExpress.com's list of future NBA players to watch tomorrow:
La Salle is up 35-27 on Boise St at the half.
La Salle takes the 80-71 victory. They shot pretty lights out tonight. I think they're going to give K-State fits on Friday.
Well, the play-ins are done. Just 12.5 hours until the Madness begins. My picks for tomorrow:
MSU over Valpo
Bucknell over Butler (Upset)
Pitt over WSU
StL over NMSU
St Mary's over Memphis (Upset)
Marquette over Davidson
OkState over Oregon
Gonzaga over Southern
Louisville over NCA&T
Michigan over South Dakota St
Arizona over Belmont
UNLV over Cal
Mizzou over Colorado St (Upset)
VCU over Akron
New Mexico over Harvard
Cuse over Montana
Butler up 3 midway through the first half. Tight game so far.
MSU blowing away Valpo.
Butler advances. St. Mary's and Memphis should be a good game.
"I was brought in here to change the culture. I'm going to coach with passion" - Fran McCaffery.
Don't be surprised if Marquette gets downed by Davidson. Davidson is a little underseeded.
I had Pitt as my national champ in a couple of pools because of their fantastic computer rankings. I thought I was really smart. I wasn't.
Memphis' coach clearly needs to learn what a timeout is and when to use one. Nearly lost to St. Mary's at the end. What a game!
Davidson giving them all they want right now. 45 - 39 Davidson with about 9 min. to go.
