and that is it at 2:32 with the fall
Wrestling owns the Olympics
Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
Just watched the McD match wtf, I yes ME know exactly how Delgado wrestles and shoots asap, why the f**k can't McD figure it out. McD has looked like shit lately anyway I hope this lights a fire under his ass
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
Grothus needs to go away, he doesnt have it and is not going to, at least Kelly is competitive hell he broke the top 20 then gets benched, wtf is up with that? I cant wait until we can find 1 decent 149 pounder, and as loaded as we are at the low weights it blows my mind they cant find something
Agree with everyone else...
Burak...starting to disappoint
On a side note, here's an article I hadn't seen posted on here discussing a dual format to Nationals...
It has been proven a team champion can emerge from a duals format. But is it the best way to determine a true champion? Roger Moore examines the debate brewing within the sport. More: Wrestling Notebook
Missed the Illinois match last night, but was able to watch the entire replay this morning on BTN.
Nice ending with a fall. 25-12. Go Hawks!
Delgado kid is a punk. His interview made him look like a giant D bag. Saying that McD wins because he's "funky" and he has his number because technical wrestling beats funk. Then he went on to say how the only matches he lost were because he didn't finish ...
If you don't like my opinion, at least you can enjoy the view
I hate this idea, and this paragraph really surprised me:
"Smith points out that there is no official team scoring at the Olympic Games, but keeping a medal count has become commonplace. “There is still going to be a team trophy at the individual championships, only it will be given out by the NWCA instead of the NCAA,” Smith said."
So the NCAA won't give out the individual tournament trophy? Uh what?!? So the Dual Championship will be the "official" team championship, while the tournament team champion will just be the NWCA champ? I mean they're basically flip-flopping the two tournaments.
I also agree with this part, although this is less important:
"The other side of the fence includes coaches who feel adding a dual championship is only going to cater to the “haves” and mean little to smaller schools. One unnamed coach said, “You really think anybody outside the top 10 is going to have a chance to win a dual meet championship? Look at the champions of the National Duals, do you see any surprises?”"
good, that's bulletin board material for mcd....he needs to re-focus and get inspired for b1gs and nationals anyway
Just watched it, DVR, I'm a big Matt fan and I can honestly say I'm glad he lost. Matt needs to quit just winning close matches and start winning with bonus points. This loss I think lights a fire in his butt and gets him to start to dominate
This, summarizes my thoughts, McD will go down as one of the best, 125ers if not the best of all time, I honestly think he was getting complacent, and Delgado is a moron does he not know Matt has been doing this for 4 seasons now his style may have funk but he is ALL skill, does he honestly believe he is the first "technical" wrestler Matt has wrestled, not hardly and he has wrestled better, much better. The only thing I agree with is Delgados speed at getting in on shots, Matt has got to stop letting him get on his legs so easy.
I like the Burak upside - he has yet to be out-physicalled (is there such a word). I think he will be fine. And keep in mind iowa has berg coming in, and sammy brooks lingering too.
but as far as the nationals go ... i'm not ready to argue too much either way - but i like the idea. Also like the individual tourney with team scoring. More college wrestling can't be bad.
As far as ncaa putting a crown on anything ... i don't give a crap - ncaa does not impress me in football either
i thought kelly had a shoulder thing. either way - those two wrestling each other in practice is an awful idea (if that happens). wish they would see more of DSJ in practice, and they both will learn the upper body home run shot rarely/never works. So how good is j trizz? gotta be someone out there.
hopefully the fire thing works - but either:
1: he lost confidence in his ability to shoot/take the offense to the opponent.
2: fell in love with the counter attack based on all his success with it - and became 1 dimensional on his feet
I still think he is #1 going into the B10s to start - and if he wins that #1 at nccas is a given.
He may get to face ILL 125# guy later before that - we will see.
yep - and he needs to get inspired like the other kid from linn-mar did a couple years back. what a job jay bo did when he focused and rose up to win it all
“This is a golden opportunity for our sport, to have two major events,” Smith said. “Change is difficult. We have one great event, why not have two?”
This what I like about it! I still want to see the "individual" tourney happen before the dual tourney. This will add to the excitement of who goes. The team points of the "individual" tourney should decide the the final 8 (I also can not imagine a 9th place team being close enough to make any run in a dual format)
I say bring it all on. As far as the ncaa goes - i don't give a rat's butthole.
Rumor is that it's the weight cuts are killing him this year. Didn't they change the weigh in rules this year? Can't remember what it was before, but i believe it's weigh in an hour before the match this year
So why can't the NWCA just do it themselves then? I want to see them grow the national duals first WITHOUT bringing in the NCAA, and then maybe we can talk about it. I still don't know why they changed the format, and wouldn't they have to change it back if they want to do it as the national championship?
Last year's national duals was a great example of them screwing it up, and they want to bring in the NCAA and think it'll be run better? I mean they only had 7000 people at the finals last year (I think). I know they're changing it a little and they've already announced where the finals will be, plus they're having them in a part of the country where more than one school can reasonably get to so that's a plus.

149 and 184 look to be the only trouble for us today....congrats on another B1G regular season dual championship
ok - but i still think more wrestling is better than less wrestling. in my mind - keep it all as is, except have the national duals after the current legacy tourney (with the top 8 from the current system).
last year's was a debacle - yes, and this year's will not be much better. there can be a way to do this right.
174 should also be good - but i think 'stache wins.
and yes - congrats on the big10 championship.
speaking of 149 and trouble.....
DsJ wins 6 to4, Iowa down, big to go rules
5 to1 moore after 2 with 7 or 8 hours of riding time
