Hope so I thought he was going to do that after beating the Ohio St guy though. And Delgado is a bad match up for McD other than that we crush em like the stalling pieces of shit they are
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
stalling is what hef and perry love.
that crap is killing the sport!
That is one thing i like about psu and cael - they come to play hard. OKST and ILL suck!
mcd wins easily - but delgado is being handicapped from the wrestler he can be by those two coaches.
as for Nate - now is the time!!!!

Wrestling owns the Olympics
Yes, I am glad to be wrong. The 125 and 174 matches were nailbiters; if Iowa had lost either, PSU would have won on criteria.
Ya and I still think counting a tech fall and a fall as the same. that is horsesh*t. I tech fall is for someone who is unable to get the damn fall.
This is as it is written:
Rule 3.12 Breaking Team Ties in Dual-Meets and Team-Advancement Tournaments. When
two teams finish in a tie in a dual meet or a team advancement tournament, the following shall be
applied to determine a winner:
3.12.1 Greater number of victories.
Note: Forfeits, defaults and disqualifications count only toward total number of victories.
3.12.2 Combined total of falls and technical falls.
3.12.3 Total match points.
3.12.4 First take down.
One team point shall be awarded to the team winning by criteria. The method of recording the
score in breaking team ties shall be the score followed by the number of criteria that broke the tie
(for example, Team A 17, Team B 16, criterion 3.12.2). In regular-season dual-meet
competition, team ties shall not be broken.
RATIONALE: Simplifies the tie-breaker criteria for team-advancement tournaments and
establishes it for dual meets. Conference tournaments will benefit by using the simplified
criteria to determine the winner when ties occur.
so - if ramos gets the pin - does he get 3 more for the near fall to be used for later in criteria total points?
I know how it is written I just dont like it. Interesting I didnt know it could go all the way down to who got the first take down though.
i know you know - but others don't that read our exchanges.
btw - i was just over at the psu site for 247 - reading their stuff from last night - and some guy was actually giving instruction on points within each match (like how much for a takedown etc.) and how much for a win depending on the severity. that's all cool (but kinda lame). anyway - some jerkoff called Iowa the most classless program ever (just because Iowa kicked their butts).
Lol Psu knows about 3 years worth of wrestling and that is a stretch. But fact is everyone hates us and I LOVE IT. There is a big difference in between aggressive and classless. You heard the after meet interviews Brands and all the wrestlers gave respect as to how good Penn St. was, that is not classless at all. But like I said most PSU fans had never even heard of wrestling before Cael got there so them.
btw - preciate ya putting this thread together - probably the main reason i stick around here.
also heard Taylor give props to Ramos - good on his part!
PSU fans maybe not so smart on wrestling - but Pennsylvania people are.
still love that Cael never won as a team in Iowa City - and won't in the near future!
You are welcome and ya that was cool of Taylor I thought as well. And Pennsylvania IS huge in wrestling which is why it is even more pathetic to me their fan base is more or less band wagoners that know nothing. I may be an Iowa fan but if a kid is a good wrestler I am going to give him his deserved credit and as well as programs coaches etc.
You guys should watch the IowavsPSU interview with Cael
He says, Carver was loud and an amazing environment but it wasn't the reason they lost. Goes on to say their stadium is equally loud during wrestling meets. - That's just laughable. I bet. I doubt they ever have 7K show up let alone cheer half as loud as us
Ya no way is it as loud period. And where they wrestle hardly holds 7k I am sure. This meet was 5th largest ever and I think almost all of the top 10 involves Iowa if not all of it
I can't find the original interview from this morning I saw, but he practically says the same thing here
Lol I am passionate and while I hate them I respect the program
I went and read it all, he did retract and then was respectful which is cool but even their most knowledgeable posters didn't even know u need a 3 count to get a tech fall. And then they obviously had their a holes smack talkers. But whatever we are a better dual team they are better turny team but to say they are the new Iowa, they have to keep this up for 40 years.....good luck with that
I saw the interview with Taylor - i think it was on BTN - and he was very respectful - said something along the lines of ..." .. the fans are awesome - great place to wrestle - and he said something along the lines of Ramos is a stud." These are the kind of guys that are true fans of wrestling - as well as incredible athletes. I know that you'd normally think of anyone wrestling at that level being a fan of wrestling - but there are those athletes that are simply d@cks and never show their interest or even appreciation of something that is done well - but not in their best interest - whether it's another athlete, team or strategy. Taylor, it would seem, is a guy that gets it and is a true student and admirer of the sport, even when it goes against himself or his team.
Hard not to cheer for a guy with his skills and passion for the sport. Overall - as Brands said - the Hawks showed some toughness - and guts (that special alloy) - none more than Evans and McD and Ramos, IMO.
Don't you just need back points in general? So you don't actually need the 3 point NF, just 2. Not to get technical.
They didn't know u needed back points at all and I may need to relook it up I thought it had to b a 3 count
It is any back points, so far as I can read, I thought there was a rule change for some a few years back guess I was wrong and I will now put myself in a time out
Haha feel free to remove yourself before the Super Bowl. Wouldn't want to miss the commercials.
PSU blanking Illinois right now, 22-0.
I think they're a little upset about Friday...
