Lofty wins, I missed the final score woops. I think it was 16-5, but I'm not sure.
26-6 now Hawks up.
Braden Atwood vs Nathan Burak up now.
let's go Burak - follow it up from Friday night
Wrestling owns the Olympics
Mr. Atwood is ranked 17th. Not much happening, just some feeling out so far. Atwood with a shot, Burak fights it off. 1:14 left in the first.
I hooked him up
Both guys working, Burak in on a leg but cant finish and Atwood scoots around him for a quick T2. Atwood now on Burak while Burak stands up, stalemate. Atwood climbs up on Burak again, but Burak gets out the 2nd time. 2-1 Atwood up at the start of the 2nd. Atwood chooses down and gets out right away. 3-1
Atwood is definitely the more defensive wrestler. Burak in on a shot, but they're out of bounds.
Burak in with another shot, Burak gets overextended, Atwood high up now. Not a lot of time left, stalemate with 4 seconds left. Good setup by Burak there, just couldn't finish.
3-1 to start the 3rd.
Burak chooses down to start.
Burak with almost the exact same move as before when Atwood was on top, Atwood dinged for stalling. It's weird seeing a 197 pounder put in both legs like Atwood is doing. Atwood riding tough now, 30 seconds left. Atwood is really tough on top, times going to run out, 3-1 Atwood wins.
Hawks up 26-9 now, with only the heavyweights to go.
Jesus Christ Burak this guy was a lazy piece of shit. Why to eff up a great win Friday
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
Telford up now, against Mr. White. Telford looks good, and White looks pretty poor.
Telford with an early T2, and now riding tough. I disagree with Gable about letting him go, however thats just me. White does not look like he is having fun at all.
White's not really doing anything, Telford just working on turning him the whole first period. Telford chooses down to start the 2nd and gets out, 3-0 now Telford up.
purdue hwt looks like ned beatty in 1972

Telford needs to attack this guy. White isn't doing anything at all, but neither is Telford really. Come on Bobby this shouldn't even be a competition. White chooses down to start the 3rd.
Telford on top and riding hard. Stalemate. White just laying there.
Telford now trying to tilt white, but couldn't get it done. One minute left. White not doing anything, Telford just cant turn him, and Telford cuts him. Telford wins 4-1.
Hawks win the dual 29-9.

Everybody (Ironside, Gable on commentary) saying they all saw improvement over last Friday. I can't really say I disagree, but I think last Friday's overall performance was the better of the two.
Gable and Brands now on TV, kind of interesting hearing the two talk about decisions that are made during matches.
Thinking about it more, I don't think today's performance was anywhere near last Friday's. Ironside seems to be changing his mind on how they looked today, getting a little more agitated as he goes on.
Tommy and Gable got into it a little about Burak being down to start the 3rd. not to add words to either, but it seemed that Brands suggested that Burak needed to get out of there at this point of the season - and maybe later (tournament time or some other time) he would make Burak chose neutral instead.
Yeah it was interesting hearing that conversation. I tend to agree with Brands though.
Now the fun begins....

To be the best you got to beat the best. WOOOOOO
The Okie State meet video will be available online through their website. It will be their guys calling it, but the last time I heard it they were very knowledgeable and respected IOWA quite a bit.

Life is hard. It's really hard if you're stupid.
And not another home meet for nearly a month. Sigh.
Just a couple quick thoughts after watching the OSU meet on DVR finally and listening to the Purdue meet.
125: McD is a stud. Nuff' Said.
133: Really bummed Stieber could go, wanted to see how much Ramos had gained on him. Tony has been fantastic this season.
141: Would have liked to see a little more offense from Ballweg against Stieber but thought he battled and just couldn't find it in the 3rd. He's getting better though. I think he will AA if he continues to get better.
149: Thought Kelly would have got Tessari if he had another 30 seconds. Battled back, getting better, but just isn't there yet.
157: DSJ is DSJ. Would have liked more offense against Demas(at least finished more shots) but Demas is super athletic and tought to finish on. Nice win. I think he will be a champion.
165: Not a bad showing for Moore but would have liked to see him score more. I don't think he does anything at NCAA's.
174: Jacked for Evans when he beat Heflin. Big win for him. I think 74 is much better for Evans to be at. I think he'll keep progressing. So disappointed that Gambrall is nowhere to be found after his stellar run as an underclassmen. The dude just couldn't keep his weight in check. Too bad.
184: Really like how Lofthouse has attacked more offensively this year. He'll need it come NCAA's. I think he AA's and possibly makes semi's.
197: Thrilled for Burak to knock off Campolattano. Too bad he is so inconsistent.
285: What can I say about Telford other than he is so inconsistent it is painful to watch at times. Good wrestler, just doesn't have the offense right now. Frustrating for sure. I think he'll AA but he'll drop a match to someone he shouldn't and won't get higher than 4th.
Overall: This is a really good duel team, but I don't think they are built for NCAA's. We could have 2 champions and 2 others than get in the Top 4 and still won't be in the Top 3 in points barring AA's from a couple guys that aren't expected to do much.
We shall see.
I see 2 Champs, Ramos with a runner-up and AA's from Evans, Ballweg and Telford. We just don't compete with all the bonus points that PSU will put up.
