gdmt - marble get the ball in the hole
whew - 3 ft shots with the shot in the face (flop? iowa was due several calls- 8 more and we call it even)
Wrestling owns the Olympics
this game basically came down to Marble choosing a bad day to play like crap
look on dads face says the same
ALSO, IF WE CAN'T START HITTING OUR WIDE OPEN THREE'S ..(particularly on our home court).. WE WILL NOT WIN VERY MANY GAMES THIS YEAR
still a ton of chances for the Hawks...if they could hit a few 3s it would be a different conclusion...despite Marble's play.
McCabe sucks for taking two 3s and missing.
Terrible shooting, but to shoot that bad and to be right in it, that's encouraging. Need to work on free throws, make all of those and a different story.
6.2 sec left and IND will rebound; down 3. Need to foul before the ball comes in or steal. Go Hawks!
Oglesby might just have to step farther out....he seems more comfortable.....bout time he got one!
IA lost a close game 65-69.
officiating sucked for such an important game - but if iowa plays smarter = nice win.
anyway - nothing matters but the next game - and we all move on
big game vs Mich....if the Hawks gut-check this and put it behind them and continue to play with more and more confidence - i think that they'll be able to give UM a ball game.
The PGs and Woody all played terrific...it was the upper-classmen that didn't do their part tonight.
Fun to watch them play and great to hear some noise at CHA!
This. I am very impressed with the freshman that Iowa has.
mkillian247 on twitter..... I say a lot of stuff you wont care about.
Clemmons was a little out of control on a couple plays, but overall play was solid,
Gesell vs Yogi was a push, and not a dunk fest as wasa predicted by Spank on HN. biggest impact was Woodbury getting 4 fouls, Olaseni still needs time to develope. but with time he will be a good one.
White showed why he was named a Freshman AA.
Oladipo is the best player on the Indiana team, to me the jury is still way out there on Zeller. being a POY type as Woodbury did a good job on him the 1st time around
If only our lone senior could play as well as them when he's in the game....
yep - if only Christopher would get his ass off the bench one time and hit for 45 i'd be happy too!
I had to DVR the game. Don't think we lost the game for bad calls, nor for lack of trying although at times we seemed to fall asleep on both ends of the court. This was a game within reach and with a few of Marble's or McCabe's shots falling, we could have walked away victorious. Btw, Roy and Zach took way too many bad shots - they went 2 of 20 combined. Adam needed to step up and match up better against Zeller. He had 8 rebounds, which was great, but only 4 points against Zellers 19, and of course 5 fouls - we can't win too many games that way against the top teams in the nation. Regardless, this was a game proving that we're on the right track and on our way back.
Happy New Year!
ok - as far as the bad calls part - you are not going to give on the sheehonis' 2 hand shove on marble's back? i have many more instances, but if you think that was clean ..... well ...
BP: Thanks for your reply. I remember the one you mentioned and that was a missed call, but we didn't lose the game because of bad refereeing. There was a guy named RC on our last site who went out on a rant about the refs every time we lost the game, even when the box score didnt support it, like in this game. Please note that tonight we made way more free throws than Indiana attempted.
Happy New Year and see you at the next game. Cheers. :)
next game bro -
This. I enjoyed the game. Iowa proved that it can play D and hang tough.
that shove in the back led to a 4 point swing late in the game, if the refs call that foul Masrble goes to the line with a chance to tie the game, and for the record Zeller got the bulk of his points with Woodbury on the bench in foul trouble
