The Stazi to McNutt game at MSU in 2009 airs at 6 p.m. (Eastern).
From 8-10 p.m. it's Iowa spring football.
Looking forward to pics and reports from those of you who were lucky to be at Kinnick today.
Let's Go Hawks!
Thanks! I was quite frustrated with the BTN2go and it appeared there were technical difficulties by the network. Did anyone else experience that?
I would infer if it was Ohio State, the BTN would have made sure the technical difficulties were fixed.
I look forward to the coverage tomorrow.
About time that BTN shows Iowa.
It's embarrassing for the BTN to call themselves the BTN.
They might as well go ahead and call themselves BT/OSU network.
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
I'd be interested to hear a more detailed explanation from the BTN. I assume if Iowa had notified them earlier that the scrimmage would be more of a game-like setting, it would have been televised at some point on Saturday, so BTN2go wouldn't have been an issue. I think fans would be understanding that the last-minute change put the BTN in a bind, so it'd be a good move for them to be more transparent.
Then you'd be wrong. BTN had the exact same "technical problems" on BTN2go for OSU's spring game.
So is anyone else successfully streaming the game via BTN2Go? All Im getting is a blank white screen.
Watching the scrimmage right now. Our kicking game is horrible today. Mike M. is 1-3. Hope its just a bad day.
Pretty disappointed in the O so far. Canzeri seems to be on another level. I'll have to catch the 2nd half on DVR. Hopefully it picks up.
Just started watching, Canzeri looks very good Davis looks good Hamilton looks good, O line looks strong and if Sky was talking about the Smith on the dropped pass I saw, it was a bad throw and behind him.
Edited: was not as bad of a pass as I thought

Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
Smith should have caught that ball, no question.
Ok, I went back and watched it again he could have made a good catch and caught it but it sure as hell wasn't a no question about it catch. Unless we are talking about different drops. I am not out of the first quarter yet. It wasn't as horrible of a pass as I thought either.

2nd quarter pass to Smith I would say is a no question catch, anything in the chest should be caught. And was a good throw.
ANd another one in the 2nd dropped for a big play he should have caught. Not looking really good today. Kmm and Wilson looking darn good though
A lot of tipped balls by the d line. I am liking seeing that as well.
Really liking Malloy too. Should Bullock get his catching hands ready?
Glad to see the QB's much more confident in the pocket and not afraid to step up and take a hit. Refreshing. Rudock and Sokol both extending and making plays. It's early so the inconsistency is to be expected but we're showing flashes. I really hope we can find an identity on O and keep with it. Last year, if we weren't running the ball, I felt like we were lost.
I think it looks that way, and the tight ends all look very good too.
It's only a "spring game" but in truth, it was nothing more than a glorified scrimmage so it's hard to derive too much intel from it. Still, from what I saw, I think Iowa has a lot of offensive weapons.
Among the QBs, I thought Rudock played really well. There was a very quick whistle on one of the QB sacks where McMinn stunted and came at him unblocked and lunged but he was an arm's length away and never came close to touching Rudock, who would have easily scrambled for a first down and likely gotten a lot more yards if the ref hadn't blown the play dead. It went into the book as a sack but in a real game, Rudock would have turned it into a nice gain. I thought he showed a cool head, nice pocket presence and command of the offense. I wasn't that impressed with Beathard. I think it's a two horse race and right now, Rudock's in the lead.
I am only a few minutes into the 2nd half but so far I agree, and I am kind of thought Beathard was going to show more but he is still young. But Rudock and Sokol both look like they can play some ball, I know it is hard to tell but they have some pretty good tools and are athletic.
Boy Malloy odes look good and man he got big from high school
I was pretty impressed with the defense, especially the front seven and particularly the front four. Lot of tipped balls at the LOS, good penetration and strong pressure against the no huddle and against a pretty good OL. The edges need polishing and it's still missing that speed rusher but all in all, there's a lot there to work with.
Yea, Malloy and Canzeri looked great. I think Bullock is going to be spending a lot of time in the slot.
And I think it is a good move for him and he can be a good mismatch and a quality slot guy.
I was talking about the fly route along the far sideline. The one across the middle I would agree would have been a tough catch for smith. He had one later in the game where he was pretty much dragged down and the ref seemed like he was going to throw a flag but then couldn't get it out of his pants, so he just waved incomplete. Kennedy was not a happy guy.
Yeah, the fly route was a must catch and he should have caught it, I wastalking about the diving catch about a minute in when it was thrown to his back side. There were a few he should have caught and didn't, he didn't have a good game but that happens. Nice to know we have other guys that can step in and make plays though.
Definitely nice to have a few other guys that are able to make plays at the WR spot. There's talent there, we just need a few to step up which I think will end up happening this year. I honestly think that if Iowa can get solid play out of the QB spot then they could surprise a few people.
