Here's something that you didn't know...........
Check out the NCAA RPI for women.
With victories over ranked ISU and Texas, the Iowa women, now 11-3 are
ranked #12 in the country. Pretty impressive.
They start Big Ten play on Thursday nite at 5:30, vs the dreaded Ohio st buckeyes.
Time for Hawkeye fans to show their support, imho.

Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

Good for coach bluder. She isn't the greatest recruiter in the world but she certainly gets the most out of the players she has....and they love playing for her.
Actually, Bluder has been knock them out of the park on the recruiting trail the last 2-3 years. Iowa had the 12th ranked Class in 2011. I think I read where two of Iowa's 2012 recruits are in the top 100. 2 of the 2009 recruits were ESPN Top 100's. Bluder's recruiting has not been her weak spot. She has had a terrible record of keeping players healthy. We lost two top flight recruits to career ending injury last year. Morgan Johnson would be a First Team All American if she was 100% healthy. Bluder is doing a great job. Now the U of I Clinics need to improve the sports medicine department to support her. (Tongue in cheek for those who need a hint)
Lisa Bluder can FLAT-OUT coach. She is very good with X's and O's, matchups and getting her plays to play with alot of hustle and emotion. And WiscHawk.......I'm not sure about Morgan Johnson being 1st team AA, however, she is a terrific player, a future M.D. and wonderful young lady. Now, if Jamie Printy hadn't been hurt, I'd put her shooting up against ANY women's college BB player in America.......and to Jamie's credit, she just dropped 33 points on San Diego.
I've always thought that the Men's team should try to compete against Jamie in Free throw shooting.
All of the men's team would improve competing against Jamie Printy in FT shooting.
I think it can be safely said, Morrison71, that
Jamie Printy is a 'good-lookin' basketball player.
And she'll be in the Big Ten Network, today at 5:30 pm.
Since no one has stated it, great win tonight over Ohio St!!
Congrats to the lady hoopers. I believe that makes 4 wins over ranked teams ALREADY this season. Impressive.
Very much so
I think they have 2 losses though, but I'd imagine if they keep winning they will be ranked very soon. With Printy back, the inside presence of Morgan Johnson, and the highly touted sophomore class starting to do big things, Iowa is definitely a team to watch in the B1G this year.
This Hawkeye team deserves to be ranked, based ONLY on their performance.
What else should it be based upon???????
Nice win over Ohio State. I've been to several games at Carver-Hawkeye and have always been impressed with the support you give your women's program. Is it safe to assume an immediate rivalry with Rutgers might be in the offing?
McCafferty's putting together a great program and I couldn't be more disappointed our men's team won't be coming to Iowa City. Your fans have always been gracious and hospitable.
I see your point, but I'm not sure how much longer Stringer will be coaching at Rutgers before she retires.
Also, it would probably be more of a 'mutual admiration' situation than a rivalry. She is still loved in Iowa City and no one can blame her for leaving when she did. Her husband died. She needed a fresh start. She never left on bad terms.
His name is Fran McCaffery. M C C A F F E R Y.
Not really that hard.
The Iowa women BB team could use your support, Hawkeye fans on Sunday.......noon game at CHA vs Michigan.
Apparently, Michigan isn't too bad, so a big crowd would help Bluder's bunch.
See you there!
You're right...if it was really that important to me. Didn't your mother ever tell you to accept a compliment and move on?
My Mom took pride in spelling, instead of just bumbling thru things.
Thanks very little.............
You two kids knock it off RIGHT NOW(!) or someone will be sitting in the corner real soon!
........and don't forget to put on clean underwear tomorrow for the IA/Mich game, KK.
........and no drinking during the game either! I will do that for you.
No worries, golden.
Pretty much have always had a short memory.
Your Mom lecture reminds me of a joke.......but, I'm too lazy to type it out, here.
If the Hawkeye women knock off Michigan, as I fully expect..........perhaps we can
knock back a few at the Drydock ? Hopefully, celebrate both Men's & Women's BB
Yeah, I don't ask for much.
And how about those Hawkeye wrestlers destroying Ohio, last nite?
would have been nice for her to get Greg Stokes' daughter
anyway here are some photos from Socal
