Up early and off to JFK airport for my annual March Madness trip to Las Vegas.
Iowa favored by 12. Game at CHA and on ESPN2.
I will strictly follow the golden rule of "not betting on one's own team."
Plan to watch the game at either MGM or New York/New York.
Let's Go Hawks!
Not to beat, kick, and bludgen an overly dead horse, but I'm still trying to swallow not making it to the dance. Strenght of schedule and quality wins aside, ANY other team but Iowa in any of the major conferences would have made it to the dance if it were listed in the "dominate"------------ (insert conference here). Their explanation and shoulder shrug is a slap in the face. Yes, the two points above make sence, but only if you're trying to explain away a bias against Iowa. Years past, 7,8,9,10 teams have made it to the dance from dominant conferences.
LAME. go Boise State.-puke
I'll match the prior two Excuses, and give several reasons they should have made it. One of the youngest teams in basketball. How bout the BEst young team in basketball. 7 losses by under 4 points. Those loses by teams in the best conference in basketball.(for the most part) Not having their best player the last few weeks of the year, and playing hurt in the big ten conference. Which they lost to a top 10 team by 3. Having a few bad losses at the beginning of non-conference play because of 2 starting freshman.
K, I'm done. GO hawks.
Iowa has announced that this game is a sellout!! Very impressive Hawkeye fans. It will be the highest attended NIT game since over 16,000 saw Kentucky play at Creighton a few years ago.
Always good to be able to vent. Now it is time to do our best in the NIT. A one-and-done there will be a cold slap in the face for fans who always wear the rose-colored glasses. We always think more highly of ourselves and our teams than others do. Fact of life, sorry.
Don't get me wrong. I always have the rose-colored glasses on for the Hawkeyes and want/expect them to go all the way in the NIT. Will they? Time will tell. There are an awful lot of good teams out there.
I wasn't able to get to the ticket office early enough today for a ticket. I'll be watching from home, missing just my 2nd game of the year. Kinda disappointed, but go Hawks!
"I was brought in here to change the culture. I'm going to coach with passion" - Fran McCaffery.
Ill be watching from home, cheering on the hawks.
Is this the "OFFICIAL" thread for the game? (Maybe Todd has the day off.) Will stick with this unless I see one from the Todd-meister. About 20 minutes till tipoff.
GO HAWKS!!! GO CROWD!!!! Cheer like there is no tomorrow- there might not be if you do not hold up your end of the deal.
I don't know if this is the official thread for the game. But I know that the Hawks are officially not playing very well to start the game. They look a little sluggush. Defense is OK, but the big O stinks.

anyone find a source to stream it. first row doesn't have it..
8-7 Sycamore. We need to get ahead.
You're a savior!
Hawks looking like the NIT is the right place for them. Hope they sharpen it up a bit.
Well this is some sloppy play for sure. What a terrible first half. Do the hawks not care about the NIT?
Ugh! Missed enough 3's that it now looks like everyone afraid to try again. Maybe Gessell will.
It looks to me that the Hawks are dribbling the ball around the top of the arc until forced to shoot by the shot clock. Why don't they use the looping movement that runs an opponent into the ground in the course of a game??
There ya go white! Iowa rallied back. That was needed.
Need more players with White's intensity.
Gabe has 35 blocks. Thats awesome
This has been a painful half. We are lucky to be where we are. Good thing we are at home!
Have never seen so many fans in the near-court seats standing and cheering. Nice change.
free throws are killing us. Come on hawks!
