Congrats to the Eagles of the Atlantic Sun Conference. A first-ever NCAA bid.
The last game I saw at CHA was against Florida Gulf Coast. It was Lick's third game. We won easily but there were only about 5,000 in the stands.
For the record, I have seen two Iowa games on the road since then.
What road games, what year?
I believe Florida Gulf Coast had been a Division II school until recently. That's a great accomplishment for them to make the Big Dance already.
Welcome to Voice of the Hawkeyes! We're glad you're here, so make yourself at home.
Harvard and Belmont also in.
To answer the question, 2008, at The Citadel (won) and at Boston College (lost).
Sat behind the bench in both games, and at the BC game, Bobby Hansen approached us and ask if we were at The Citadel game "a few weeks ago." He also showed me his NBA championship ring. What a great guy.
Liberty (15-20) of the Big South is in. Congrats to the Flames.
I heard an interview with their coach tonight, and it's pretty impressive how they turned their season around. He said their best player missed the entire season, they had two additional starters hurt for most or all of the season, and they had two rotation players quit the team at one point. To be able to make a run like they did is pretty special.
Add Gonzaga (no surprise), Davidson, James Madison, and Western Kentucky, who we beat in Cancun last November.
Hilltoppers with an RPI of 166, so no help for us in that department.
Add Valpo, LIU, Bucknell and South Dakota St to the list.
