Wichita State and Louisville are about to tip off, and Michigan takes on Syracuse in the second game.
Wow, very low scoring game, here with a 17-13 score and 5 mins left in first half.
Cleanthony Early is one of my favorite players in the NCAA tournament, this year.
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
This is the type of game WSU had to have to win this game.
mkillian247 on twitter..... I say a lot of stuff you wont care about.
Plus their coach is right, every fan there will cheer for them expect Louisville fans
Rick Pitino is a class act. I remember the year we played agains his team, and the respect he showed for Iowa and especially for Dr. Tom was quite something.
This has been an awesome game. Go shockers!
I'm not anti-Louisville or anything, but it would have been neat to see Wichita State win.
Yeah, not everyone is in agreement there.
Believe he paid a mistress to have an abortion and was
embroiled in quite the controversy.
Not sure how he escaped that little escapade he had on a Pool table.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of mid majors. I don't believe they deserve the credit they get sometime. I know you play the schedule you have but put them in a power conference they probably wouldn't be as good. Of course we will never know how they would do so it could be a stupid argument by me
I think it depends on the specific team. As long as they play a challenging nonconference schedule and handle their business in conference play, I think they usually end up getting whatever amount of credit they deserve. And once you hit the NCAA Tournament, especially as a lower seed (typically somewhere between 6th and 15th), you'll have to prove how good you are on the court by beating several quality teams, often from the BCS conferences.
Also, if mid majors were playing in BCS conferences, they'd probably be able to recruit more talented players, and would probably have better facilities as well.
Great point on being able to recruit better. But just for arguments sake look at this year. IMO MTSU, St Marys, and La Salle didnt deserve bids over teams from major conferences. It just bothers me that those teams take bids away from teams that play in major conferences that really deserve it. Look at the MTSU OOC schedule. It was a complete joke.
Yeah, I think the nonconference schedule for those teams is extremely important. As long as they're challenging themselves and doing the best they can do to play tough competition, then I don't have a problem with it. I don't know all the inner workings of what went on when MTSU was making their schedule, but they definitely didn't challenge themselves as much as other mid major schools did.
Got to agree here. Pitino may be a great coach and a "classy" coach with regard to his relationship to other coaches, but he is not a good human being and a complete hypocrite. He should have been fired, but of course, in this day and age, that would never happen to a winning coach, especially at a school like Louisvelle.
Yes, he made a mistake and paid for it handsomely. As for the rest of his 60 years on this planet, the man has done more for the communities he has lived in than most people could dream of doing. And I guess if his family forgave him for his mistake, then I could forgive him too, and focus on all the good he has done for others and the game of basketball.
But of course, If you can't get passed that, then that's your prerogative, and you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Thanks for the comment, Sky. :)
