I haven't seen much on him lately, I'm assuming he is going to try and play basketball in college? Is he interested/getting any looks at WR? Is he good enough for D1 in either sport?? Thanks!
Yes, He wants to play basketball.
Bad headlines for Dondre just when his team (IC West 17-0) is streaking for a 2nd--in a row-- title run.
Im still hoping for an Iowa City West Des Moines Valley matchup in the final of the State Tourney.
At least he isn't an Iowa recruit!

of course i don't know what info is in the secret posts but i do add that dondre did not play against city high last night after being suspended again. even if he suddenly decided to play football, i doubt kf would be a taker.
It does say a lot about his character, throwing away a chance a second st tourney title run and with the team on an insane winning streak. Not the kind of prep legacy championship players try to make..
This is just speculation on my part, but if he's been told he's suspended for the remainder of the season, I could see why he'd want to cut ties and make better use of his time.
It's been a few years since I've been out of high school, but IIRC, you have to stay out for a sport while on suspension or it will carry to the next sport. It might change if it was a school given suspension instead of state mandated (ex. For academic violations), but I don't think quitting ends the suspension.

Gotcha, thanks for pointing that out. I really don't know what the policy is - was just throwing that out there as a possibility.
He had the opportunity to be reinstated, the article wasn't specific, but he was supposed to do some "small things" and then he could rejoin the team. He didn't, he just left.
That's a shame his high school career ended like that.
It is; especially since this team--which he was a major contributor--is on a once in a lifetime streak and this is his last year as a prep. I was hoping to watch him guarding Jok in the State final.
Watched Dondre get the better of Marcus Paige in the semi-final game at State, last year. That's right, IC West won and
Dondre got the best of Paige, imho. Unbelievable God given talent on the BB court. As fun a player to watch at the High School level, as I've seen in maybe 10 years. A division 1 talent in BB & FB is saying A LOT.
That being said......while it's on him, he is the only one who can be held accountable for his actions and some kids could be that responsible, I do feel sorry for him, in some ways. It is my understanding that he has almost no family life and pretty much 'has been on his own' for a few years. I cannot imagine how I would have reacted, at age 17 or 18, if my parents had not been there to keep me somewhat on the straight and narrow. There's plenty of bad stuff out there to 'get into' and some of it has gotten Dondre.
Might keep Dondre in our thoughts and prayers. I know that I will. I'd hate to see him pi** his amazing talent down the drain.

Not sure when he was released from his scholly at Southern Miss, but Alexander recently signed with State Fair Community College in Missouri.

Dondre is playing in the Prime Time League in North Liberty, preparing to get better for the Next Level.
And actually---------State Fair JC is in Sedalia, Missouri, not kansas.
The Missouri state fair is held in Sedalis, hence the name State Fair CC.
It will be interesting to see how this works out. Hopefully Alexander can get it figured out and make it to the next level.
How long did u have to search to find this bump?
Kid should've gone with football.
