it seems to me that the length of the contract is at least as important as the yearly pay. i wouldn't mind adding a year or two and bumping the performance incentives a bit. now isn't the time to trot out blockbuster gold, though. ui needs only to signal that it is pretty happy with the direction, that it wants coach to finish and enjoy what he's started, and that the financial part of enjoyment will be there down the road when we get there.
Hey golden: Would you mind Upvoting my OP, since there are some *******s, who think every thread that
gets started needs a downvote, if they haven't been educated on said topic?
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
He has been, If I recall the article, the final payment was made, so in essence it's a done deal.
The raise all coaches want is a an extended year contract with a buyout clause.
Another day, another raise, another extension
This is the voice of reason. And he didn't even have to call posters a name to express it!
So if people disagree with you they aren't educated on a certain topic? Sorry, but giving a coach a raise/extension one year after it was already restructured for beating two sub-par teams at home and one mediocre one on the road just perpetuates the belief among many casual fans that Iowa is nothing when it comes to basketball.
There's no doubt this program was in a bad, bad place when McCafferey arrived and that his making the program respectable again had been a good step forward. But he was already rewarded for making Iowa respectable last year, and henceforth should be rewarded for achieving the ultimate goal of the NCAA Tournament, and beyond.
Also, as I've explained to you several times on the board and via private message, complaining about and insulting the people who downvote you is only inviting more. If it bugs you so much, stop complaining about them and be a little more civil to those with a dissenting opinion and they'll most likely stop. Drastic measures, I know.
He just believes that he is the only educated person here. Kind of like he believes he is the only victim here, even if he posts junk calling other people names or what have you.
It's very annoying. About as annoying as when he starts threads everyday over something he started a thread about the day before

Not every thread...just yours. Which reminds me...I haven't used my down votes today.
And if you're meaning of "educated" is the spastic ramblings of a man, whose passion for all things Iowa clouds any semblance of logic and reason, then by all means call me "uneducated".
I wish you could see the votes of each post even if you don't vote. Why do you only get 3 downvotes per day?
probably cuz some may use them for personal grudges...just like they did over on that cesspool HI.
Didn't we already make that mistake with Alford when he won the BTT back in 2002?
Fran just keeps making the case for me.
It's absolutely GREAT to be a Hawkeye!
Is there a clause in his contract about a bonus for winning the NIT Championship?
