Definitely agree with Herkuleez....updates needed for those who could not make it to WDM Valley.
And we know that the DM Register won't be able to devote reporters, as they're busy trying to help
mitigate and minimize the recruiting scandal and coming sanctions for their team, just to the north.

I wouldn't have pegged him as a punt returner at first, as punt returners are typically much smaller than he is. But he's got very good hands, he's fearless and he's pretty explosive as well. Definitely an intriguing idea.
Ya they said he is like 6 3, which is huge for a punt returner, I still fully expect either Canzeri or Fleming to be seeing most of the duties, maybe it shows they think Lile has a shot at starting on D and in a pinch situation or for staying out if they think there is a chance for a fake he can go back and field it. (Not sure that makes as much sense in words as it does in my head hope you know what I mean)
In general, I think having this practice in Des Moines was a good idea by Iowa. We'll have to wait and see what sort of feedback there is in terms of how the logistics of tickets, parking and everything else played out. But aside from it being nice to throw the Hawkeye fans in that area a bone, it's also a great way to spice things up for the players. They escape the same, typical routine, and get to be a part of the excitement of the fans in that area.
First offensive play, Adam Cox at FB, Weisman at TB.

Thanks for sharing those tweets Brad.
Hope they don't forget to tweet about the QBs.
There is so many I am kind of just posting what I think is worth reading, I will keep an eye on the q.b situation
He was 6'3'' 200 as a senior in high school, which is already huge for a punt returner. That's still what he's listed at on the Iowa website, but I'd be surprised if he hasn't gained some weight. If he can handle it, that's actually a nice wrinkle to throw at your opponent. A punt coverage team is generally much more used to trying to tackle a smaller, shiftier type of guy - someone who's likely small enough to bring down with an arm tackle. As a bigger body, Lile might be able to break a lot more tackles than the typical punt returner would.
And I know exactly what you're referring to - the punt safe situation that typically pops up on fourth and short/medium around midfield where a fake is most likely. In that situation, most teams will keep 10 of the 11 defensive starters on the field, and then sub in the punt returner for one of the defensive backs. But if Lile is starting on defense or at least playing a lot, he could just stay on the field and eliminate the need for a sub.

Jaleel and Ekakitie are big, big fellas. Interior DL will have a lot of beef. DE huge question re: pressure on QB. Had none last year
Not like we didn't know this but I like finally having some naturally big d tackles
Ok good, that is what I meant, just didn't know if it came off that way.
I have to go for a bit but I will still post anything of value when i get back
Yep, we were on the same page with that...and that scares me!
I saw some tweets later that Ekakitie is also working at DE today. I think if he has the quickness to play on the end, he could be a huge difference maker.

83 Riley McCarron. Walk on frosh. Catches everything. Wears Welker's number and probly slot like him. Remember him
marcmorehouse @marcmorehouse 24s
Rudock has two TD passes.
Mixed bag on who is best q.b (no shock) Hillyer is hurt, Law is hurt sounds like a lot of guys are, McCarron is getting lots of props, sounds like Cotton burned Lile once but dropped the ball.
From Hawkeye Heaven on Facebook
What I took away from spring practice in West Des Moines:
* It's Rudock's job to lose
* Canzeri looks to be 100% and good
* Freshman WR Riley McCarron caught everything thrown his way, going to be tough to keep him off the field
* WR Tevaun Smith has some big play capability
* Fiedorowicz is a monster
* Weisman and Bullock both looked good
* Jordan Cotton and Maurice Fleming got into a little scuffle during 1 on 1 drills
* Nico Law wasn't in uniform
* Both Kornbrath and Mullings had some booming punts
