Fizzle out?? We lost Kenney from Indiana hiring his dad, we lost Hill because Michigan whiffed on enough DB's and IIRC lost one to Ohio as well so that they settled on him. We didn't lose Trevon Young either, we pulled his scholarship for putting himself in the position to be arrested TWICE. When we got so many guys early we knew the strategy would likely change to be a little more selective, it's happened before, why not this year as well? We didn't let David Smith commit last year because we had Akeel Smith and Greg Garmon ahead of him and because we already had 15-20 commits.
Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
It does happen every now and then. Not the same exact situation, but David Dawson committed to Michigan, decommitted, then recommitted about a month or two later. And I've heard of recruits doing what you said, but no one that I have covered.
But is it gna happen now Todd??? Wink, wink, hint, hint
I know these are all extreme cases...but in all three cases, we no longer have the highly touted recruits. Remember last spring when everyone was jumping for joy at the class we were bringing in already? I know recruits flip all the time. I understand that. But to start off with such a bang, and now to be at the bottom of the B1G recruiting standings...or a better example yet, to be outside of the Top 50 recruiting classes is not a good sign. I realize we are the top notch schools like OSU or Mich., but its tough to see such a promising class flop. (No offense to the recruits we already have. I am more than excited to see all these guys play and I think they will develop in to great athletes).
I hope we can snag a few more recruits that we need like Spearman, Lemelle, and maybe Dunbar(?). Would be cool to go out with this class just like we came in.
I'm really not sure at this point. Need to see how things develop.
You are focusing way too much on recruiting rankings. "Outside" of the top-50 right now means nothing, we'll most likely end up in the 30's by the end of the class as Trevon Young having his scholarship pulled took us down quite a few spots by itself, meaning not a whole lot of separation. This is still a good class with a lot of questionably underrated recruits, all that's missing is 2 decommits and 1 who proved himself too immature to be a part of a football team, yes there are wholes, namely at DE but it's still a class filled with promise. Again there is no fizzle out, recruits don't keep time schedules for decisions/visits/etc by our schedule, they do it by their own. It happened where we got most of our recruits earlier than normal (much earlier) and we have many guys now who are coming in a matter of 10 days for OV's who can close this class out with a lot of smiling faces across Hawkeye Nation.
Reilly Reiff commited to us, then decommited and commited to Nebraska, then ultimately switched back to the Hawks in the end.
100% correct, totally forgot about that. And look how that worked out for him Mr. Kenney
Good call - I wasn't covering Iowa at that time, so that slipped my mind.
That's no excuse. Didn't Brommelkamp mind meld with you all this stuff?

Jedi Mind trick works better but I am the only Jedi in the tri state area
Riley Rieff - Iowa to Nebraska back to Iowa.
Thanks, already mentioned by Boonerhawk above....
Indiana DT coach/recruiting coordinator Mark Hagen to take over as A&M's linebackers coach, per GigEm247
Perhaps another call should be put in tomorrow to the trio over there
