Marvelous Marvin McNutt (i.e. #7 ) for the Iowa Hawkeyes, #1 in our hearts.......
was Activated by the Philadelphia Eagles and will be in uniform when the Eagles take the field
at Cowboy stadium in Dallas, on Sunday.
And on a related note.....................
TODD: Are the Hawkeye FB coaches staying on the St Louis high school circuit??
There have been some absolutely AWESOME college football players coming out of St Louis and
Missoui, in general, of late.
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
Glad to hear McNutt will get a shot to show what he can do on Sunday.
And yes, the Hawkeyes landed Andre Harris, out of that area, in the 2013 class, and continue to pursue prospects in that area.
Another St. Louis player, Derrick Mitchell Jr.also committed to Iowa. Both of these players will give Iowa some needed speed at receiver.
Great news for a great Hawkeye from a great family! The family used to tailgate near the old HC tailgate (BBR), and I heard nothing but good things about them.
We need all the help we can get.........but not too much til 2013. Go Marvin!
Nice family, the McNutts. They always exchanged greetings and would stop and chat sometimes at BBR's spot.
Can't believe those sad Eagles cut him in the first place.

Hopefully McNutt worked a lot with Foles and developed a rapport with him this season. Mesean and Maclin certainly have no connection with him as they combined for only 69 yards receiving the past 2 weekends. McNutt might have a good connection with him and have a good game with Mesean now on the injured reserve list.
Here's some guys from St Louis, of late.
1) Adrian Clayborn
2) Monte Ball (Wentzville)
3) Marvin McNutt
4) Derrick Mitchell, Jr.
OK, I ran out.......lol
Marvelous Marvin is a different kind of wide out than Maclin, Mesean, etc.
As a QB, I'd take the big target and soft hands, along with INTEGRITY of
Marvin McNutt every d*** time.
I hope he is active for the game. I just put him in my starting lineup for fantasy football. And of course his first game might be against Dallas.
Completely forgot about Mitchell - thanks for pointing that out.
Great point. I would imagine McNutt and Foles worked together a lot during camp and throughout the season in practice, so he may have more chemistry with Foles than the vets would.
Marvin McNutt was in the starting lineup, as Philly moved down field and scored touchdown to lead
Great to see Marvin getting his chance in the NFL.
Here is a nice little write up on his activation.
Thanks ND, and watching this dismal game now just for Marvin.
I didn't get to watch the game. i see in the box score that he didn't have a catch. Did he play much?
He wasn't active for the game. But you could see him on the sidelines in street clothes a couple times.
My bad, folks.
I was watching at BWW and thought #81, Avant was
Oh well, Marvin getting close to the field.
Looks like he got number 83 when he does play, if anyone was curious.
Thanks for that tidbit, will be looking for him in the very near future.
