The Mountain West had the highest Conference rating from rpi??
And these chuckleheads at NCAA headquarters use that as their gold standard to pick the field?
Are you f****** kidding me?
What a pathetic joke.
As I said when the NCAA field was announced........the Iowa Hawkeyes are better basketbll team than
over half the field in the NC2A tournament.
This needs to be corrected and soon. A laughing stock really
The Big Ten was 6-1 in the first rounds..........and did the Mountain West win any games??
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
Notice how Espin is very reluctant to point out the Dominance of the Big Ten in basketball??
This despite the fact that, right now, the Big Ten is 9-1 in post season play.
If Mich takes care of business, as I think they will, it will soon be 10-1.
Colorado State and San Diego State both handled mediocre teams.
"I was brought in here to change the culture. I'm going to coach with passion" - Fran McCaffery.
I think both the Big Ten and the Atlantic Ten have gotten a lot of positive attention from the media because of their performances so far so I'm not really sure where you're getting that ESPN is reluctant to acknowledgments the Big Ten's performance.

Are really trying to have a rational conversation with Skyhawk???
I must be missing if Iowa was 6-1 after first round and MI winning makes them 10-1?
Big Ten is 6-1 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Iowa and Purdue also won, so going into last night, the Big Ten was 8-1. With Iowa's second win in the NIT we are now 11-1 Michigan and Michigan State won handily today, so the Big Ten is now 11-1. Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio State play Sunday. The Big Ten could be staring at a 15-1 record by Sunday night.

An 11-1 record should have been expected given the very high seeds B1G teams received. It really isn't that big of an accomplishment. Now, if the Elite Eight is 75% B1G teams, that would be impressive, but right now, the B1G's record isn't really too telling.
We lost to Neb, Purdue, VaTech. We played a cupcake OOC schedule. Give it up.
Yeah, tell that to Gonzaga, Georgetown, New Mexico and Kansas State.
It's definitely better to win those early games than to lose them. But what I think Fish meant was that the media will really give the B1G all the hype it deserves if their teams keep advancing, as nothing that has happened thus far in the first three days of the tournament has proven once and for all that it's the best conference. It can still happen in as the tournament unfolds, but it hasn't happened yet. Get two or three teams to the Final Four, 4-6 in the Elite 8, 6 in the Sweet 16, etc, and I think the hype will really increase.
As always, Todd is able to make my point sound much better than I can. This is exactly what I was (attempting) to say.
