1. This puts us in a tie for 6th as opposed to being in 9th place.
2. We just equaled our win total from last season.
A much needed win. Where were the students tonight? On tv, Carver looked a bit empty in some areas.
Very big win for Iowa. It was a must-win situation, and the Hawkeyes stepped up and delivered. Oglesby delivered the dagger with that late three. Maybe that'll be the shot that helps him find a groove from here on out.
I was pretty disappointed in my fellow students. Carver was really empty. It's a shame they won't come, but hopefully next year brings more just as this year did.
"I was brought in here to change the culture. I'm going to coach with passion" - Fran McCaffery.
Do you think the loss at Nebraska took away a lot of the excitement among the students? If Iowa had won on Saturday, I assume there would have been a better turnout tonight.
I just looked ahead in the B1G tournament and predict that IA will most likely be seeded #7 (if they go 2-1 with remaining game), which plays #10 (either NW or NE) will be NW. Round 2 plays the #2 seed which I think it will be Mich St., could be IND but not likely. I think we have a better chance with MSU than IND. I know it's pointless to look ahead but I like IA's chances with two games against NW (2-0) and MSU (0-1).
Or they can just prove me wrong by winning the next 3 games and two rounds and March Madness, yeah! Go Hawks!

Didn't get to watch, was feeling under the weather last night and hit the sack early, glad I woke up this morning to see that they won.
Buck- You did not miss much. Very boring game, IMO. LOTS of missed shots. Iowa stayed ahead and stayed in it with White's freethrows. Josh came through at just the right time with a three pointer down the stretch. Hope you're feeling better today- an Iowa win will usually have that effect!
One thing that's apparent is that this team is much, much better on defense than last year. The offense is up and down (very down last night) but there is a night and day difference on defense. I'm sure there are a lot of factors there (i.e., better depth), but I think the coaches deserve credit for bringing a whole new attitude to the defense, particularly in the half-court. The ball pressure and intensity is as good as I've seen it in a long time.
Hopefully, Gesell makes it back quickly. He's arguably our best option when the shot-clock is winding down and has a knack for hitting those mid-range jumpers at the right time, something that was sorely missed against Purdue. The one bright side is that he will get some rest and other guys, especially Clemmons, will get more experience heading into the B10 tourney.
Attended the game, too UI2015.
Not only was there a ridiculously low turnout of students, their LAME chant toward DJ Byrd made the
Hawks Nest look like they're students from SE arkansas junior college tech.
Very good win by the Hawkeyes and fine performances by Aaron White, Devyn Marble, Gabe Olaseni, Anthony Clemmons, Eric May, Zach McCabe, J ogelsby, Pat Ingram & Woody.
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
I have watched plenty of those games, but still like seeing them all the same, although I would much rather watch a game where the Hawks have all things clicking
Agreed, and I think guys like Woodbury and Clemmons have helped a lot in that regard.
Great point about this squad's defense. As you mentioned, I think the intensity is just at a much higher level this year. What impresses me is that a lot of teams have 2-3 very intense players on defense, but the majority of Iowa's roster has been playing at that level. To me, that's the biggest difference between last year and this year, and the coaches definitely deserve credit for that.
