So, I'm just curious about what other Hawkeye fans think.
Since Bert Bielema was a Hawkeye FB player, with a Hawkeye tattoo, do you generally
favor his teams, now at Arkansas, or cheer against?
Or, no opinion.
Considering the way he bolted from Sconsin and blasted Barrie Alvarez' worshippers,
I've adopted the Razorbacks as my favorite team in the SEC.
Hook em HOGS !
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
Hate them, just wait and notice that we will be going head to head against Arkansas for recruits before you know it.
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
Example..........? So, BB is following are recruiting and then offering the
Iowa offers? Just like, Sconsin did while he was there.
That's hilarious, if true.
No, not so much like that (yet), but we have been against Ark. on several recruits each year prior to B.B getting there, I am sure Fu is right and it will get worse but it is already something that happens. Like right now with the 4 star q.b ( I can't remember his name off the top of my head) some lineman, running backs etc. in previous years
But I will also say if he is going head to head with us on many recruits, he is not going fair well in the SEC.
I have been a lukewarm fan of Arkansas in prior years. Now that Bielema has bolted there and forsaken Wisconsin and the Big Ten, I will laugh whenever they lose, until Brett moves on again. IMHO, Arkansas is not a good fit for Bielema's style of football. They are much more an aerial circus school in a high paced, offensive fireworks conference. Only the top three or four teams play great defense in the SEC. Arkansas is not one of those and Bielema has not had a great track record of great defenses. Good enough, but not great. The SEC is gonna eat him alive....and I will laugh all the way. Just my 2 cents.
I have to admit that I am a fan of Bielema. Although he only sees things 'his' way....complaining about OSU poaching players and then doing the same. While I believe he was the beneficiary of a well stocked program at Wisc - it will be interesting to see how he does trying to build a program after what the Pigs have been through over the past few years! And...there is no doubt that he has been molded into a coach that looks for the same type of player that he was and that Iowa looks for - so there will be a bunch of battles between Hawk coaching and Arkansas coaching staffs. Should be fun/interesting to watch. It'll also be interesting if he settles down a bit - I think he just got married....but rumors were that he and the staff were a bit on the wild side in Mad-town.....isn't that something that ARK just went through?
WiscHawk...........a friend of mine is a die-hard Badger fan.
(I don't hold it against him, personally, though, we all have our failings)......
Anyway, he cannot stand BB and I think it's funny, since BB did do
pretty well, during his stay in Madtown.
I'm neutral on the subject of BB. I think he made a mistake by leaving Madison, but my personal opinion is that he was chafing under the direction of Barry Alvarez, who is a very strong personality.
BB got paid Big-time to bolt the cold winters of Madison for the more
temperate climate in Fayetteville.......I cannot see it as a mistake.
And actually, I really love it that he chapped the a**es of the Badger faithful, by slipping out of town.
