BB is simply building up his resume and his billfold, waiting patiently for the day KF retires and will be the heir apparent to Kinnick Kingdom. He would never be able to build up any Hawkeye fan love while beating Iowa repeatedly on the recruiting trail and on the gridiron. Another conference and less direct competion with Iowa will be a good thing. He did not get that Iowa tatoo for nothing. Black and gold is in his blood. He wants the Iowa job in the worst way. Someday he will get it. And when he does, he will receive a hero's welcome back to Iowa, as well as a ludicrous contract by the new athletic director, KF himself. WOW!
You heard it here first. Mark the date.
Well, Beils leaving should help us with Pieschbacher.

Absolutely. This will help Iowa a lot with recruiting.
Will he be making more than KF while down there?
"Wisconsin's relatively modest facilities might also have been an issue for Bielema – a problem he will not encounter at Arkansas."
wasn't there a lot of crabbing early this year as the badgers limped out of the gate. i'll bet bb got a pretty good dose of reality before the wins started. there's probably a scrap of paper on his desk--"note to self: screw the cheezers of you get the chance."
Looks like BC is hiring the Temple coach, so Diaco could be a real possibility. I don't want that guy in Madison.
Wow. Arkansas must have backed up the truck.
I couldn't ever see leaving a good, solid B1G Ten school for a middle tier SEC school.
NC State has to be feeling lucky they already hired Dave Doeren . . . Pitt, you're on the clock.
Lets see, Paul Chryst takes the Pitt job with half of BB's staff last year, BB rebuilds his coaching staff, fires one coach after week 3 and now he leaves...something stinks in Madison...LOL...but we all knew that.
I would love to see whats being said on the Badger's forums all across the 'net...
...and I would love to think it opens up some recruitment possibilities, but after PSU last year, nothing is a sure bet.
I guess I'm not as shocked as some others here. I see going to the Sec as a positive. Do you guys just see Wisconsin as a better job than Arkansas? Yeah he did have a good thing going in Wisconsin. And I'm guessing he should be able to get just as good if not better players at Arkansas, right? I mean he will get Alabama, Georgia, and LSU leftover players right? That doesn't sound too bad. I guess I don't know much about recruiting. But it seems like Arkansas is a pretty good job to me.
Never realized Wisky already had a pretty solid group of commits for 2014. I wonder what they're take is on this.
One of my younger son's best friends from HS plays for Wisconsin. Can't wait for some stories around the campfire this holiday season...................
I don't know NYC. Without looking I'm thinking Camp Randall is much bigger that either of the stadiums the Razorbacks play in.
Practice and admin facilities, given the wealth of the Big Ten I can't imagine Fayetteville is better.
Does this say something about the Big Ten? (soon to be Big 10X2=20 - god I hope the original 10 are in one league.)
Oh man, one of the Wisky assistants was out visiting with a recruit when the news hit....talk about awkward......
Yeah, it doesn't make cents. His brand of football and his roots are in the Big Ten. Ok, from 2.5 mil to 3.2. I would assume his contract would be renegotiated after this season or next had he stayed in Madtown. And he would last longer there than in Ark. Just watch, he'll be gone after 3-4 years. Yeah, Ohio07, something must be going on up there in Madtown. Then, again, remember a few years ago before the Rose Bowl run? The firebretbielema.com was out there. Wischawk, have they really embraced BB up there? Or his wife is from the south? Or did Ark promised him another Harley and a lovely assistant?
Golden- yeah, why wouldn't he want to go back to Iowa? Maybe going south for a few years would be an easier move to IC than from Madison. Personally, I don't like him that much. I look at him and I see a Bo Pelini type. Must be the profile and haircuts or the corn cobs up in their... He does hire good assistants though.
...did you see Matt Millen's reaction? "I don't like it. I don't like it." Yeah, it doesn't seem like a good fit. But good luck BB. Wear that tigerhawk proudly. Now, let's go after his recruits. ...and Iowa should have after Diaco last year for the DC position. Would have been a bad move for him though.
ESPiN reporting that the deal is 6 years for $3.2 million/year. I don't know how much he's making at Wisconsin under his current contract, but I have a tough time believing that's the kind of money that would be too much to pass up. I agree there must be some sort of underlying reasoning beyond just the money, but what that reasoning is, we won't know for at least a few years.
Also, Alvarez may consider coaching the team himself for the Rose Bowl. I would think having a Wisconsin legend come out of retirement would do a pretty good job of pumping up the team after Bielema leaving.
Bret Bielema is taking his brand of power football to Arkansas, leaving Wisconsin after seven seasons.

Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
I read he was making 2 mill at Wisky and will make up to 4.4 mill at toothville
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
Camp Randall is bigger but if we are talking football facilities, it's not even close. Arkansas has way better facilities and Wisconsin stuff isn't anything to brag about.
And Dolph on the radio said that Brett's agent is the same as Ferentz, so this agent is one sly guy. I wonder what's his commission on Brett and Ferentz's salary...
Yeah, Arkansas has some of the best facilities in the country. From what recruits have told me, their weight room is like an entire city in itself.
I know a few of you have asked about some of Wisconsin's commits. Keep in mind that these situations can be a double-edged sword. Depending on who the next coach is, there may not be much - or any - fallout at all, and they may actually flip some recruits currently committed elsewhere back to Wisconsin.
Was checking out the Badger site awhile ago, much support from other fans, not really much venom. Interestingly they had a thread that was started 2 days ago, from what I could read (non-VIP) they knew something was up, but it was more to Alvarez's retiring and not BB bolting.
I got a text today from my buddy that people in the know in IC are saying that BB leaving has something to do with that OL coach that was let go early season. He thinks that assistant coach was fired due to a scandal involving a non-athlete student.
Also was told today that Brian Ferentz had a OL recruit visit campus this wk end that some of the other coaches thought was questionable. Kid was from Ohio and like 5'8''.
Regarding the possible visitor to campus, I haven't heard anything about that, but keep in mind that kids from all over the place are trying to visit all the time. Just speculating, but it's possible that Brian Ferentz ran into the kid and/or returned an email from the kid to be polite, and the kid went ahead and visited on his own accord.
I've heard two things.
My friends dad who's a big booster at Wisconsin has told me many times that Wisconsin's facilities are out dated & old. He's been to many different venues and is quite the swinging d*** and he said about 2 years ago that Wisconsin's are probably the one of the worst in the B1G.
I've seen Arkansas's on ESPNU. They are money. It's not even close. I bet Arkansas's is consider a top 3 facility in the SEC.
