I think it is a matter of Kirk being fired or leaving for another opportunity. Then he would be screwed and could have went to BAMA.

So hes stating he will take his official visits.
Wasnt KFs old rule that if you want to visit other schools then you arent committed to Iowa?
I think that was true til he realized that the recruiting game has changed...
My thoughts exactly.
Yeah, Ferentz has shown in recent years that he's willing to let commits take official visits in certain circumstances.
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
The offer list gets richer and richer....
Ross Pierschbacher @RossP71
"USC and Auburn offered!"
I think the more big time programs that offer, the more the Bama offer doesn't mean as much. Hopefully all the "power houses" blend together and he sees the light and stays with Iowa! I think as long as we have a good season and Kirk stays, he'll be a Hawk (based on his interview).
I'm sure glad he was born in raised in Iowa and grew up a Hawkeye fan otherwise I think this recruitment goes the way of Koundjo. I too think he sticks with Iowa as long as the Hawkeyes don't only win 2 games and fire Ferentz.
So it begs the question if Iowa only wins 2 or 4 games next year would you want KF back to keep recruits?
If Iowa only wins 2-4 games next year you want KF fired?
Have to keep him without putting current recruits even in the discussion. Who would do what he has at Iowa? Who would want to even come here? We'll be fine and keep getting better. I don't think there is a need to worry.
That's a great question. Personally, I think it'd depend on how the season plays out. To me, it's more qualitative than quantitative. With a much tougher schedule, it's possible to go 4-8, but still show signs of improvement. Maybe Iowa loses four games in overtime, 7 of the 8 losses are nailbiters at the end and several young players break out as rising stars late in the season. Or maybe the team is plagued by abnormally severe injury problems. On the flipside, Iowa could conceivably win 6 games, but still show that things aren't really getting any better.
I hope he gets every major program in the country to offer. The more offers he has the more people take notice that he is committed to Iowa. The same is true for Scheel. I'm kind of surprised his recruitment hasn't gained more momentum.
Read this headline:
If Iowa commit Ross Pierschbacher is going to visit any other schools, it is not going to happen until after the college football season. The four-star prospect gives us the latest.
Yup....dude is a hawkeye fan surrounded by some fans who hate Kirk. He knows a bad season means kirk possibly being gone. As long as kirk is here, he is a Hawk.
I'd want the recruiting class signed and in the can....then I'd want KF fired immediately thereafter.
Sorry, this is all out war, kids are collateral, you can't rebuild a program without talent, so therefore you make sure the kids are signed and then you cut out the tumor. Business is business....and CFB is business now, not a fairyland where student athletes and coaches are loyal to any institution....nor is the institution loyal to anything other than $$$$
Just FYI, if that were to happen, the athlete can petition to be released from their LOI...and typically, is granted.
