Panic to ensue in 3....2....1

too bad he didn't sign the LOI yet, or did he?
I'm not worried about it. If anything, it's a left-handed compliment that arguably the best coach in college football wants one of our recruits. (Although admittedly, Ferentz does have a sketchy track record of letting Iowa's best get away...French, Darboh, Arrington.)
Todd may disagree with me but from what I've seen, when in-state kids commit really early, it's usually because they've decided they want to play close to home. They become pivotal in helping recruit the rest of their class--they've not only bought the product, now they're out selling it. I predict Ross will become a fixture on campus in the fall. Scheel and LeGrand, too.
I don't see Ross changing his mind any more than I see Lazard changing his mind.
Cedar Falls (Iowa) High Top100 offensive tackle Ross Pierschbacher has been committed to Iowa since January. Does Wednesdays offer from Alabama change anything?
Not worried just yet. This better mean that Ross becomes an automatic 5* though right? I mean now that Bama offered..
And I dont blame him. Play for an average B1G team in IC whose coach is on his way out. Or play for the best exposure, best coach, best women, best fans, best weather, overall best program in college football. Big games and a total NFL breeding ground. Wanna practice against all-world DEs every day or the jokers that Iowa has been fielding lately? Seriously who could blame him?
Its a career decision.
I'm sure he's still committed. Reggie Spearman tweeted that Ross was still a hawk and everyone needs to stop freaking out.
He's going to Iowa. No if's, and's or but's. It's nice he is receiving these offers, but Ross will be a Hawkeye. Book it.
I will give you great coach and great fans BUT Best women and weather?? Have you ever been to Alabama?
While most are valid points he can get to the NFL here or there it is all on him, it's not like we don't have a great track record we are tied with them for top 3 round picks and 1st round picks at the moment. Not to mention the fact they have been loaded at tackle and there is no guarantee how quick he can play, and there is a great chance he will be playing here very quickly. However could I blame him for going there, not at all
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
"Best" is subjective but I got my masters degree from Alabama and lived in Birmingham for two years before going to Tuscaloosa so I can tell you first-hand that Alabama's got at least BETTER women and weather. But I wouldn't say their fans are better. They've just have more to be proud of and brag about lately. Otherwise, fans are fans and Iowa's can be just as rabid. Trust me: I've been on the wrong end of that passion for over 12 years. Soon, it will be living under my roof when my kid enrolls next fall.
I can't believe some of you have thrown in the towel and resigned yourselves to Pierschbacher leaving. Give the kid some credit. Besides, recruiting doesn't end when a kid commits. As a wise man once said (I think it may have been Urban Meyer), when a kid commits, all it means is you're in his final three. And the other two may not even be known yet.

I don't want my "uhgg" to be taken as I think he leaves. I think he is a Hawk. I just know that more offers will come and hopefully it never makes him question his commitment. Iowa needs to show improvement (at least 6 wins) this season to keep some of these recruits from looking elsewhere.
Congrats to Ross P on the offer, from the defending Natl Champs.
Guess that now makes Ross a 5 star recruit and therefore, the
Iowa Hawkeyes have a verbal commit from a 5 *****.
It helps Iowa in the recruiting rankings that some are so, so concerned about.
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
Hey I hope he stays but can anyone name 1 thing that Iowa football has over Alabama other than proximity? I feel thats Iowa's only angle. Has he visited there? He stated a couple months ago he wanted to visit some Southern and West Coast schools. Glad you guys are confident he will be a hawk but imo 1 visit to see Saban and hes gone.
I do believe he has been there. And I can name name things Iowa has over Alabama but it don't matter cuz you will disagree anyway. And have you checked wrestling thread today
Didn't Ross grow up a Iowa Hawkeye fan? Can someone verify this.... I think that's one huge advantage Iowa has over Bama...
