Too bad they don't realize that Vandy beat no one of merit and for the first seven weeks neither did MSU...and when they did, they lost....and lost big.
Good point, but it's still a quality win for the overall perception of the B1G.
That would be the 31-10 Outback Bowl win against 7-5 South Carolina?
The bar on your happiness quotient is really, really low but more power to you if going 8-4 and winning the B1G's 3rd place bowl game is all it takes to make you happy.
Oh great.........now we're going to get lectured about what makes a great football program from a fan of Ohio, who
came about as close to the death penalty as any Big Ten team ever...........well, maybe with the exception of Jerry Sandusky's school.
'Texan by birth, Hawkeye by the Grace of God'
Ohio State didn't come anywhere close to the death penalty.
Way to show your ignorance. It's always better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt.
You just removed all doubt.
Really? Come on, man.
Here we go. The arrogant, ignorant O Sanction U fan has arrived/
Get out the disinfectant. Go back to your O Sanction U board, please.
In case you're as blind as it seems, I'm an Iowa Hawkeye fan and this is my thread, fool.
Both of you - cut it out with the bickering.
Is there a point to this post other than to troll?
Sine Missione -- Never be a spectator for unfairness or stupidity, argue for arguments sake; the grave will give plenty of time for silence.
Sorry to ruin your entertainment!
Awww...poor little buckeye fan trolling...
Know what was another day that made me happy? The day your team got put on sanctions, after all the chest beating from suckeye fans who swore it would never happen. Yeah that was good times. I'm sure I'll get to savor that again.
Who's bickering? I made a remark about low expectations that would be generally true for a fan at any school and this tool chose to attack me instead of debating the merits of my remark. I love it when posters like him make fools of themselves. And trust me, we have our fair share of bombastic chest pounders and knuckle draggers on our board, too. And we have fans from other schools who post there regularly and are well respected and welcome.
I could chose to lower myself and make turnaround fair play by making all kinds of disparaging comments about Iowa's shoddy off the field record and reputation but I haven't. I enjoy this board and post on it occasionally because I live in Iowa, my kid will be going to Iowa, and I generally--generally--find the posters on this site to be knowledgeable, intelligent and objective. But there are always exceptions.
I don't care if this is a Hawkeye board or not but go ahead and beat your chest, brother, and try to drive me off like you're some sort of lowland gorilla marking his turf. I am not here to be disrespectful. I am not a troll. I have nothing against Iowa. I have a lot of respect for the school. But I don't have to show respect or bow down to any idiot who attacks my school simply because he has nothing more intelligent to say. And I would hope anyone on this board would feel that way about defending Iowa.
Like I said, whatever makes you happy, brother.
But if my happiness was defined by things that happened to other people, it would be the first clue I needed to get a life.
Expectation: N 1. the act or state of expecting or the state of being expected 2. (usually plural) something looked forward to, whether feared or hoped for. 3. an attitude of expectancy or hope; anticipation
What were my "expectations"?
I was reminiscing about one of the best bowl seasons I can remember, since I am not a conference rah-rah guy, and I loved it when Iowa was the only B1G team to win its bowl game that year. That's not "low expectations". If I had said, I hope Iowa goes to the Go Big Daddy Bowl this year and is the only B1G team to win their bowl game, that would be "low expectations" you can rake me over the coals for that. But my reminiscing over that particular bowl season seems to have struck a chord with you. Maybe because your team lost? Most likely, but oh well. Maybe you felt the need to belittle my joy with the fact that it was a 7-5 team? Had you a clue, you would know it was a 7-5 squad who had dismissed 7-8 key players the week beforehand. Does that make you happier? I hope so.
I'm not defending Skyhawk, but there were no "merits" to what you said. You seem to have taken what he said as literally the happiest moment of his life and made a fools comment as if you're qualified to judge him from 1 thing he said. I don't go over to the Ohio board because I know how many fans are there and the few times that I have for whatever reason, I think I found a board where only members of "your" site specifically could post and possibly more than just that 1 board, so where all these "other" fans post with you there is beyond me, granted I don't really care to find out either.
By making backhanded comments about Iowa's "shoddy off the field record and reputation," while cute coming from a Buckeye fan, is in fact lowering yourself to Skyhawks posts to you. I don't think many of us mind you being here and posting on most topics, but again, there was zero merit to what you said and you more or less personally attacked OhioHawk for you perceiving him to have "low expectations."
The fact is it was a massively troll post and you really have no room to defend what you said.
What other people? My happiness was in the fact that Iowa won their bowl game. It was sweetened by the fact that your team, and every other team in the B1G, I spend the entire year rooting against, got beat. If the F'n Irish had lost their bowl game that would have been the sweetest yet.
And by your definition...if you need to have other teams, you don't root for, win a bowl game, just to make you feel better about your team and what they have accomplished, then your the one who needs to get a life and a clue.
Looks like you seem to be taking to this trolling thing, and you're lecturing *others* about getting a life?
