I don't believe officials would have purposely called the game biased towards Kansas.

ESPN stated last night that the social media threats were going to be taken seriously and charges may be filed against those who were foolish enough to post those messages.

Yeah, see the pic above of the tweet I posted last night

Yes, the officiating was terrible at the end of the game and very biased in favor of KU. The Big 12 has admitted officiating errors in this game.

While ISU fans have every right to be upset, it all could have been avoided had they made free throws in the final minute which would have sealed a win.

ISU was 25 of 28 in regulation at the line. That is pretty dang good. Yes, that one free throw at the end that was missed would have made a difference, but in the big scheme of things, FT shooting did not hurt ISU. In fact, their FT shooting was why they were winning the game.

ESPN also reported the statement made by the Big 12 in which they stated there were a few questionable calls in the final minutes of the game in which the officials made the wrong calls.

Like I said, I don't believe officials would purposely call a game in favor of a team. All I know is every time Ed Hightower officiates a game at Carver, he usually at many points has 15,000+ Iowa fans booing.

I think there are more shady things that go on in college sports than we will ever know. I noticed quite a few of Kansas' offensive rebounds were a result of one of their games going way over the back and knocking out to another guy. I know ISU had more FTs but I thought there could have been many more calls on KU. I don't know if the officials were biased or not, but sometimes it seems there are pecking orders that adhered too.

The thing about the last no call. Okay so there is no call, as bad as it was, but then you call a foul on the guy laying on the floor with the KU on top of him? Really? If you were going to let them play the last few seconds of the game, then that was DEFINITELY a no call. I know sometimes officials try not to decide the game with a call in the final seconds, so at first I am thinking, that was the reason for the no call on the charge, but then to call the foul they did? Wow.

Nailed it. Ironically enough, the guy who tipped it back over to Johnson laying on Niang was Withey, who should have fouled out a minute before that if the refs were competent. Without Withey in the game, regardless of the block/charge no call, Lucious gets that rebound and the game is over.

  • When I started this thread, I thought that eveyone on VOTH would be like me and not
give a rip that isu got hosed. Well, you live and learn.

But, then again, Clowns will be Clowns. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

The Clown pinhead that used the racial epithet should have to go to every Clown game for 10 years, as punishment.

I never want to see these kids who put it all out there get screwed by incompetency of the refs, no matter who the team is, and they really got screwed. Outside of being a huge Freddy fan, because as someone else said, he's a class act all around, I've always been a fan of ISU bball.

Part of that is state pride and part is because growing up, my uncle was friends with Johnny Orr and used to take me to the games and into the locker after. I'd give the players crap that I was a Hawk and they'd give me some good fun ribbing and put their jock straps on my head and mess with me. Kinda one of those things you think is really cool when you're a kid and I guess it just stuck and I've always liked them when not playing Iowa.

I'm guessing these days, a kid in the locker room with a bunch of adults and their dongs swinging around my head like pendulums wouldn't be allowed.

Old school would be wanting all the schools in the state to do well in all sports except when they are playing you.

Do you realize that ISU winning helps Iowa's RPI?

Just so you don't miss any sleep, I down voted two of your posts. A gross injustice committed against any team should be abhorrent, regardless of your like or dislike for the team. IMHO your posts are too often infested with a sense of supreme knowledge and a lack of respect for anyone who does not endorse your opinion. Just my 2 cents.
