That's a bunk list, they did get some right with Erik Campbell and Eric Johnson, but they had a ton of mistakes.

First off, calling BOTH of Michigans coordinators best in the B1G is just completely idiotic as I don't think either has the track record of receiving that title.

Why Reese Morgan is considered at DL instead of OL is just stupid because as a former coach at OL for 10+ years, who has produced tons of draft picks over his years and no prior history as a DL coach is just very questionable. I don't know who the Wisconsin guy is, but I DO know that he isn't the guy who's produced all of Wisconsin's OL over the years.

Phil Parker isn't even mentioned as DB coach and Northwesterns DB coach is? I have nothing but insults to rain down on whoever decided that.

Luke Fickell as the best LB coach is another very questionable pick, I would bet money the B1G has at LEAST 2 guys who have done better, with all of the staff changes though I can't really choose who.

DL and RB coaches are also bad picks in my opinion.

I don't mind the list. I'd argue Der on the Luke Fickell part, he has head coach experience and is a hell of a recruiter. Those two assets alone put him in top contendership.

I also can't say the Larry Johnson pick at DLine is a bad one either. Greg Mattison can have the DC IMO but I'm with Der on giving MICH the OC position, I'd choose Bill O'Brian. As for Oline I'd pick Cotton or Staten over Markuson.

15 National Championships and one Urban Meyer heart attack, Roll Tide. 23 NC's in wrestling and one badass Herky, Go Hawks.

  • My main problem with the list was that he listed so many coaches (4 or 5) per position. It would have made it more prestigious if he'd only mentioned one - two at the max - for each position.

I, too, was puzzled by the inclusion of Morgan among defensive line coaches. My take was that was his way of giving Morgan some recognition, because he couldn't consider him for the offensive line category anymore.

The offensive coordinator selection couldn't have been an easy one to make. There have been so many staff changes that I have a hard time putting anyone other than Borges there. Chryst would have been the obvious choice, but he's gone, and no other returning coordinator has a great track record of success in the B1G.
