Introducing: 247Composite

247Sports came out with a new innovation early Monday. It is called the 247Composite.

The 247Sports network will continue to rank high school prospects. However, in a side-by-side comparison, it will also supply the most updated composite ranking of each player based on how the major national recruiting sites rank that player.

Each player is given a statistical ranking. A 1.0 ranking would indicate that player is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 prospect by all services in the survey. The closest to 1.0 a player is ranked, the higher that player is considered.

The 247Sports network is then taking all of the composite rankings and using those as the basis for its updated recruiting class team rankings. The hope is that the 247Composite Rating will be the industry's most comprehensive and unbiased prospect ranking.

As a result of this change, the Hawkeyes are now ranked No. 26 overall in the country.
