Ross Pierschbacher becomes Iowa's first verbal pledge of the 2014 class.
Cedar Falls (Iowa) High Top100 offensive tackle Ross Pierschbacher has committed to Iowa.
He confirmed his decision with Voice Of The Hawkeyes.
"Just got off the phone with Coach (Kirk) Ferentz, I have taken a big step forward in my life by committing to the University of Iowa," Pierschbacher said.
Ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 7 offensive tackle and No. 81 prospect overall, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound Pierschbacher chose the Hawkeyes over offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
Pierschbacher is the first verbal for Iowa in the class-of-2014.
