    • If Boettger commits in the near future, any idea what that means for Wisnieski or other TE for that matter? Also, without seeing either of the two play, how do they compare, on paper their size is very similar.

    • I think another question to think about is that if he commits to Iowa as a TE, does he play QB again for his HS team next year, or does he move to TE to start getting a better feel for the position?

I would imagine it depends on what kind of talent Cedar Falls has among their other QBs. Most HS coaches want their best player at the QB position, and if Boettger is willing to do what's best for the team ahead of his own personal goals, I like what that says about his character.

Also, I wonder if the Hawkeye coaches are willing to take a risk on this recruit knowing in the back of their minds that continuing to build a Cedar Falls pipeline could pay huge dividends in the 2014 class.

I think the plan at this point is for him to play QB this year, but I would imagine the Cedar Falls coaches will look for ways here or there to work him in at tight end or receiver.

I honestly don't know if that played a role in Boettger's offer, but having him and Barkley Hill already at Iowa certainly wouldn't hurt Iowa's chances with Pierschbacher.

The only thing about that angle, though, is I would think that'd be something more likely to happen much later in the process. Like if the Hawkeyes had missed on some top targets, and still had a spot or two available, that could help one player get the offer over another.
