Iowa has had a really good eye for talent. They have a history of getting lesser ranked players and helping them reach the NFL (not just a few). Having said that, they must really like him, because waiting like this may cost them a second or third choice. Also, as far as his ranking, why is he only a 2 star player? Any insight? Clearly Iowa doesn't see him that low.

Wow, I saw that and was surprised too. He got his ranking last spring, must not have been a high priority to re-rank over the course of the year. He has the type of offers that he should probably be ranked higher, but the system is what it is.

    • As I stated on another thread, I thought the primary reason for sites like 247 were to evaluate high school talent, assign grades to the talent and then provide updates on them via interviews, re-evaluations, etc....?

Veii has obviously fallen between the cracks on his re-evaluation....

I don't have any say in the rankings process. I'm honestly not sure whether or not his grade will be updated before Signing Day.

Not blaming you Todd....I realize you can't do it all.

Maybe you could ask the site admins why it is many kids haven't been re-evaluated since spring and their senior seasons are now over? I mean, they should have enough film to look at...not too mention all the stats.

It's disappointing that we are forced to hold our discussions on recruits based on outdated material. Example, if kids like Wisnieski and Gressel were re-evaluated and graded out at 90, well, the mood around this class would suddenly be a lot more positive.

No worries - I wasn't taking it that way.

It's possible that those guys have been evaluated recently, but their grade didn't change because it was deemed to be accurate. Regarding Veii himself, I would assume one thing that might have hurt him was the level of competition he played against in high school. But at the end of the day, all that really matters for a recruit is whether colleges decide to offer, and I think Jacquille is happy with his options.
